Local McDonald's owner gives back to community

LEAMINGTON — Leamington native Matt Tatomir, who now owns the Leamington and Essex McDonald’s locations through his company, Bull Market Holdings Inc., jumped into the Christmas giving season last week as he gave Christmas turkeys away to over 400 families.

Tatomir was able to secure the 400 turkeys, with employees at both locations also offered turkeys.

They were distributed in the parking lots of both locations with a special parking lot drive-thru set up for those in need.

“I really wanted to fill a gap,” he said. “When I heard that Talking Over Turkey couldn’t be held this year, I decided to help.”

When Talking Over Turkey was cancelled, organizer Mike Diab challenged the community to step up and help, and that’s just what Tatomir did.

He also donated turkeys to a couple of Leamington churches, who will be cooking them up for the needy, and that donation will feed another 200 people.
