Basketball group supports Bridge

LEAMINGTON — HighRise Basketball — through this year’s ‘Hoopin’ Around the Clock’ fundraising event — recently donated $8,000 to support The Bridge Youth Resource Centre.

HighRise Basketball is dedicated to providing youth with the instruction, opportunity, and experience to reach their full potential in the game of basketball, as well as life.

“Our team is very happy that the success of the 5th Annual Hoopin’ Around The Clock event allows us to support The Bridge again this year, said organizer Reid Innes. “Our hope is that our contribution will help to further their tremendous efforts in our community. We look forward to continuing support in the future.”

HighRise Basketball has supported The Bridge since its doors opened.

The Bridge offers essential and drop-in services to youth ages 14-24, including access to showers, laundry, clothing closet, and a nutrition program (i.e., 3 days worth of groceries). The organization is also maintaining staffing of the Quiring Family Fresh Start Housing facility to ensure youth are housed and cared for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If you or your organization are interested in becoming involved with The Bridge, consider donating now, or becoming a regular monthly donor. Visit www.thebridgeyouth.ca, for more donor opportunities.
