First ever Mom to Mom Sale

By Sheila McBrayne

Andrea Kolaczynski is organizing the first ever Mom To Mom Sale to be held on April 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kinsmen Recreation Complex (The Sherk). Branching from the one-month-old Leamington Mom To Mom Facebook Page where parents can buy, sell or swap gently used and new children’s items online, the sale features tables of goods from Moms and from select vendors. “We already have 20 vendors, we’re looking for more moms,” said Kolaczynski. Moms can purchase space for $25. Vendors may purchase a table for $55 or the space for $50.

Fundraiser for Gia’s Fearless Fighters

In addition to being a great place to shop for some great bargains, the Mom To Mom Sale is also a fundraiser for Gia’s Fearless Fighters. There will be a silent auction, bake sale and donations accepted for Gia’s Fearless Fighters, a local group who fundraise to help with associated costs while 5-year-old Gia Fratarcangeli fights childhood cancer. Gia was diagnosed with leukaemia last fall. The $2 admission fee will also go to Gia’s Fearless Fighters. Photos with a princess will also be offered.

Andrea’s son is in Gia’s Kindergarten class and wanting to help the family.

As parents we have to do something. We wanted to help. We needed to help. It’s a good outlet for the kids in her class to see we’re helping our friend Gia.

“Our event is a family friendly event. We will have baked goods for sale, t-shirts for sale, a silent auction, face painting for a small price, princesses, a photographer on site for professional pictures with princesses. We also have a DJ that will be there keeping the party going. Admission is $2 with children under 10 getting in free,” stated Kolaczynski.

A Pasta Fundraiser

A Pasta Fundraiser is also planned for Friday, May 1 at Colassanti’s to raise money for Gia’s Fearless Fighters. “We’re still finalizing plans for this, so you’ll have to follow our Facebook Page – Gia’s Fearless Fighters – for ticket information,” said Kolaczynski. Volunteers are also needed for this event.
