Flyers move on to semifinals

The Leamington Flyers are moving on to the Western Conference Semifinals after sweeping the Komoka Kings with four straight wins in the best-of-seven quarterfinal series.
The first three games saw Leamington win 5-0, 5-0 and 5-2.
Game 4 was in Komoka on Wednesday, March 4. Wyatt O’Neil netted Leamington’s first goal at the 12:01 mark of the second period. Assist went to Zach Taylor. Kade McKibbin added the second marker to end the second period, with assists to Adam Jeffery and Nicholas Beneteau.
The Flyers added two more goals in the third period. Jeffery netted his second goal, assisted by McKibbin and Thomas Michaud. The final goal of the game and the series went to Blake McConville, assisted by Taylor.
Flyers goalie Ryan Polidori turned away 22 shots on net for the shutout.
The Flyers will meet the St. Marys Lincolns in the semifinal, best-of-seven series. St. Marys eliminated the Strathroy Rockets four games to one.
Leamington finished the regular season in second place in the Western Division 12 points ahead of third place St. Marys.
