Key Club International Southridge Key Club stands as one of the 5000 clubs nationwide. Internationally, Key Club is active in over 30 countries, each with the same goal: helping the world. The Key Club Mission Statement is to provide its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership. That’s why we stand 267,000 members strong. The Key Club colors are blue, gold, and white; they signify unwavering character, service, and purity. Currently, KCI’s focus is on The Eliminate Project, eliminating Neo-natal Tetanus in all countries saving mothers and their future babies. KCI teams up with its three partner organizations, March of Dimes, Children’s Miracle Network, and UNICEF. Key Club raised almost $1.8 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, saving over 14 million children annually. March of Dimes, founded by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, continues to improve the health of babies in discovering vaccines. The polio vaccine was discovered through March of Dimes and Key Club support. Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF helped raise $5 million in almost two decades! After Key Club, there’s Circle K and Kiwanis International.

Message from the President! HEY KEY CLUBBERS! What an honor it is to be the newly elected incoming Key Club President! As the incoming president, I will work diligently to ensure that each member is given the opportunity to make a difference. With my last year of high school and Key Club approaching, I look forward to doing big things! Although there will be a large range of events and projects, my emphasis will be primarily on improving education by promoting a positive ambiance in our school. Let me know if at any time you have ideas for projects or causes near and dear to your heart that you would like to assist. To those of you who know me and my dedication to Key Club – prepare to witness that devotion reach new heights! To those of you whom I have not had the pleasure to personally meet yet, anticipate a driven, fun, spirited leader who’s really, really loud when it comes to cheering (who also enjoys baking cookies, cupcakes, etc.)  I hope I can inspire some of you as the past presidents and officers have inspired me. It may seem far-fetched to think that you can make a difference in the world, but in reality it’s as simple as coming up with an idea and bringing it to Key Club! I look forward to another year of excellence and impeccable service with you all!

In Loving Service, Katie Chanthakhoun Current Vice President Incoming President

Pre-Con(vention) On Saturday, January 19, some members went to the Rose Quarter to get excited about DCON!! Essentially, it was a mini DCON with the same jam-packed fun. They mingled with memebrs from all over the district and watched the Trailblazers take on the Bucks. During Pre-Con, District Board officers talked about Key Club’s goal, successes and meaning. Everybody playedicebreakers and showed Key Club spirit. Over 200 members from 6 different divisions came. Three schools represented 65! Forest Grove essentially brought their entire club! All in all, the convention was a spectacular way to prepare for the big event: DCON!
