Don’t be fooled.

Mr. Don Clark - What has your platform been throughout the campaign except to criticize and make empty promises! You have not told the residents anything that you plan to do for them. It is easy to criticize someone who does get things done. I had faith in you as a councilman, and I am very disappointed that you have done nothing for our community during this period except alienate yourself from the entire Town Board. Now you make negative generalized statements about me. Your word means nothing to me. Enough said about your statement in the beginning of this campaign. You said, “I will run a clean, positive campaign.” I have lived up to my word, have you? By the way, good luck, and if you succeed, I will help you in transition if you like. Remember, this is not about Don Clark or Lenny Pero, it is about the residents of the Town of Brant and the Village of Farnham. Paid for by Friends of Len Pero

VOTE FOR BALANCE ON THE TOWN BOARD VOTE RICH VENTRY

Republican FOR TOWN COUNCILMAN Paid for by Eden Republican Committee

BRANT & FARNHAM VOTERS

Ask yourself this question - Is the Town of Brant in a better place than it was 8 years ago? We have lowered the tax rate for 6 straight years, reduced the debt by over $300,000, we have new equipment in our Highway Department, a new Town Hall, a new Town Park and a Town Board that is working together for the good of the entire community. Then I ask you, why change now on a promise of a better government when you already have a government that has brought you huge success.

VOTE NOVEMBER 5TH to retain a government that will continue to bring you progress and with great respect for your tax dollars.

Dear Brant Farnham Voters,

This year’s town election is very important for our future. The town has benefited by record revenue from Erie County sales tax and our towns Court. At the same time the town has increased spending by 39% in the past few years. If this revenue source ends, we the tax payers will need to make up the difference. You should consider supporting candidates that have the best interest of the residents at heart and not for a few select individuals and groups. You should consider supporting a board that is not stacked or handpicked to follow personal agendas. At the tentative budget meeting this month the Supervisor stated he should make as much as the neighboring towns Supervisor, that’s about $40,000. I believe we should not grow our government; we should make our government as efficient and economical as possible, as we all do in our personal lives. If I am elected I will welcome diversity of ideas on the Town Board and work collectively to make decisions that benefit the fundament requirement of government, quality services for all. I will also support both our seniors and youth groups as this is an investment in both our past and future. I do not believe the Supervisor position should be used as a piggy bank or a playground. My voting record of the past two years as Councilman has demonstrated that I have no personal agenda. If elected Supervisor I will continue acting on your behalf. Thank you for your support on November 5th, Don Clark for Supervisor

SOUTHTOWNS CATHOLIC CARNATION EXPERIMENT

Students in Miss AnnMarie Busha's Grade 4 class used carnations for a science experiment. The kids filled a cup with water, mixed in food coloring and added a white carnation. They wrote down what the flower looked like at the beginning and then charted their discoveries throughout the day. Like any other plant, carnations get their nutrients through the water they absorb from the dirt they are planted in. When the flowers are cut, they no longer have roots, but continue to absorb water through their stems. As water evaporates from the leaves and petals of the plant, it "sticks" to other water molecules and pulls that water into the space left behind. The water in the vase travels up the stem of the flower like a drinking straw and is distributed to all of the parts of the plant that now need water. Since the "nutrients" in the water are dyed, the dye also travels up the stem of the flower. Pictured: Gavin Herman & Nick Iglewski __________

SOUTHTOWNS CATHOLIC SCHOOL GOES "COOKIE MINING"

Students in Miss Lori McIntyre's Grade 3 class went mining for chocolate chips. Each student was given a chart, a cookie, a ruler & 2 toothpicks. They had to measure the cookie and draw what they saw. The kids then had to excavate the chips using only the toothpicks and could not break the cookie. After, they had to go back & count the chips and record all their findings. Pictured: Teresa Smaldino & Christian Park. __________

HALLOWEEN CAME TO ST. MARY OF THE LAKE

The annual haunted house gets better every year! This year’s theme was the “Haunted School House. As you walked through the haunted schoolhouse, the first classroom was filled with unruly children, all looking a little like ghosts that had just flown in! They were certainly not listening to their teacher. As you continued on, a one eyed monster would grab at your feet and the nurse was attending to a “sick” child. The science lab was concocting all sorts of bloody potions. You would not have wanted to eat the ghoul they were serving up in the school cafeteriamost of it was green. Once in the principal’s office, the next step was detention … the graveyard! This year’s seventh and eighth graders did a wonderful job for the whole community to share! FROM THE BRANT TOWN CLERK’S OFFICE: FOR THE RECORD, AND IN RESPONSE TO THE RECENT MASS MAILING OF A POLITICAL LETTER ENTITLED “FACT vs FICTION. I MAKE THE FOLLOWING RESPONSE TO THE ACCUSATION THAT THE AUDIO FROM THE MARCH 12, 2013 TOWN BOARD MTG. WAS EDITED: The Brant Town Clerk’s Office does NOT participate in dirty politics. For the March 12 meeting, the recorder was set up long before the beginning of the workshop & meeting because I had to attend the wake of a family member at 7 PM. Any dialogue inadvertently recorded BEFORE the workshop began between 2 Board members cannot be considered FOILABLE. Section 87(2)(b) of FOIL law states, “FOIL authorizes a Town to withhold records, or portions of records when disclosure would result in an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy”. To disclose a personal conversation between 2 individuals that occurred PRIOR TO A PUBLIC MEETING, when no quorum was present, would be, in this Town Clerk’s opinion, a lack of integrity on my part. When Ms. Ritz foiled for the recording of the ENTIRE workshop and meeting, she got exactly that. Councilman Don Clark’s copy was the full version, which he used to obtain the Republican endorsement because the only person discussed on that portion of tape was Chairman Vacco. BRANT & FARNHAM RESIDENTS

I have dedicated and given you 50-60 hrs. a week to bring you good government. By attending various meetings I am able to network with different communities and government agencies to acquire grants that help to keep our taxes down. Unlike my opponent who has stated that he will work 20-30 hours a month for the same pay and thinks this will be sufficient to run our town. He voted no on a budget to lower taxes and no on a grant to obtain solar panels for our town hall, which would save approximately $12,000 a year in utility bills and help to lower taxes in the future. He tried to obstruct my objection to keep sex offender group homes from being built in our community. He has no concept of good government and no understanding of the budget. He refuses to work with the town board and has done absolutely nothing when asked to help with projects, except to complain and stroke his ego. One thing he does do well is to lie to the community for his political gain! By the way, I do not charge the Town of Brant one cent for my travel expenses to and from meetings. Just check the records. I ask for your vote of confidence on November 5th.

We raise money year round to donate to local organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club, Camp Pioneer, our local fire departments and assisting local veterans just to name a few. We now would like to ask you for help so we can continue to make these things possible for our community. As you already know, if you want a great fish fry, you can get it at our Post on Fridays. We have now added a chef to assist us in offering more mouthwatering food for your enjoyment Monday – Friday such as fresh ground specialty blended burgers, chicken sandwiches, mouthwatering steaks and some of the best Italian dishes around. You have to stop by and try our new dinner menu. The reviews have been amazing! Remember, our Post is open to the public. We encourage all of our residents to come and give us a try. We are sure it will be your favorite place to go out to eat. Please also keep our banquet room in mind for all your party needs as well as our drop off catering for your parties. SPECIAL FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER Bring this ad with you Monday – Thursday from 2pm – 8pm for dinner and get ½ OFF ANY APPETIZER. Limit one coupon per order/per table. Keep in mind – Mondays are ALL YOU CAN EAT SPAGHETTI and Tuesday KIDS EAT FREE with each paying adult. Please stop in and help support our veterans who are serving or have served your country! Thank you and God Bless America! Newcomb-Long American Legion Post #928 7353 Erie Road (Rte 5) - Phone -947-0928

Please read it carefully. Mortgage foreclosure is a complex process. Some people may approach you about “saving” your home. You should be extremely careful about any such promises. The State encourages you to become informed about your options in foreclosure. There are government agencies, legal aid entities and other non-profit organizations that you may contact for information about foreclosure while you are working with your lender during this process. To locate an entity near you, you may call the toll-free helpline maintained by the New York State Banking Department at 1-877-BANKNYS (1-877-226-5697) or visit the Department’s website at www.banking.state.ny.us.
