2nd Edition of Agriculture, Dairy& Livestock, Rajasthan Advantage Rajasthan: With a geographical area of 342,240 sq km, Rajasthan is the 1st Largest State in India, wherein 80% of rural population largely depends on the Agriculture, Dairy and Livestock Sector for their Livelihood.
Agriculture: Agriculture plays an important role in Rajasthan economy and nearly one fourth of the total state income is generated by Agriculture and allied activities. Agriculture and allied sector plays an important role in State's economy. It contributes around 26% in GSDP. Around two third of Rajasthan's population is still dependent on agricultural activities for their livelihood. Out of the total area irrigated 65 to 70% area is under wells and tube well irrigation. It ranks third in terms of per hectare yield of Mustard. The State is India's largest producer of oilseeds (rapeseed & mustard), seed spices (coriander, cumin and fenugreek) and coarse cereals. The State is major producer of soybean, food grains, gram, groundnut and pulses. Rajasthan's vibrant agriculture sector offers various opportunities for the successful establishment of vibrant and potentially profitable agroprocessing units.
Dairy & Livestock: 1. The Animal husbandry sector in Rajasthan is harbouring a fabulous livestock wealth having very significant role in providing subsidiary to major sources of income to the large numbers of small farmers. 2. Rajasthan possess 11% of the total animal population of India that yield almost 9.16% of the total milk production, 30% of the Goat meat production and 39% of the total wool production and 35% of draught power. The animal husbandry is contributing about 13% of the state's economy (GDP). 3. Rajasthan is amongst the top three milk producing state and largest producer of wool. 4. Among 14 major Dairying states for implementation on NDDB's NDP rollout (World Bank Funds). Given the vast potential of growth in this sector, Agri, Dairy & Livestock Fest will showcase under one single roof, the latest Agriculture, Horticulture, Dairy Farming, Pharmaceutical and Livestock Farming Equipment.
