In 2020 we appointed Business Development Managers in both Victoria and New South Wales.

Daena Bougoure-Latchford

Business Development Executive Victoria

Daena Bougoure-Latchford has hit the ground running in Victoria since her commencement in July of 2020. Daena has extensive experience in building customer relationships based on value and trust and is extremely enthusiastic about growing the industry in Victoria.

Micheal Brennan

Business Development Executive New South Wales

Michael Brennan started in New South Wales in October and is based from the SPASA office in North Parramatta. Mick is a well-respected, long standing member of the pool industry across various sectors. His technical knowledge makes him a great addition to the SPASA team.

1000 members

As of January 2021, SPASA Australia exceeded 1,000 member organisations

Membership Numbers By the end of 2020 SPASA were just shy of 1000 members across Australia and New Zealand. Our numbers have grown steadily over the years and we are very proud to say that in early 2021 we reached over 1000 members. Our planned reduction to our builder member fee structure continues. This reduction follows the program initiated in 2017 to reduce the number of tiered fee structures and deliver a more consistent and fairer fee model to suit our membership._ Networking was a little more difficult in 2020 due to the pandemic, however this led to many positives for our industry through collaboration and new forms of communication. SPASA has been working on a community platform for members to foster the growth of this communication and look forward to launching this to our members in 2021. The Building Business Conference was presented in September by our RTO, The Institute of Research and Learning. The event was supported by both SPASA and the Australian Swim Schools Association and was held online via an events portal. This successful event featured presentations from eight leading speakers in their field and provided attendees lots of networking opportunity resulting in robust discussion. The event was proudly sponsored by Fluidra, Pentair and Hayward.

Last year we launched SPASA Contracts, which are available exclusively to SPASA Australia members and allow businesses to complete professional and secure swimming pool building contracts online, anywhere!

After significant consultation and legal advice these member contracts (physical and digital) were released, enabling members to be better protected than ever before whilst consumers will be the recipients of a contract with clear terms with supporting information, raising the standard of our members in the eye of the consumer. We were lucky enough to hold end of year celebrations in Brisbane and Adelaide due to the lifting of restrictions, and look forward to being able to bring more of you together once again throughout 2021. Our partnerships continued to go from strength to strength in 2020, delivering more options for our members to save money for their businesses whilst supporting the organisations that support SPASA.

Westfund Health Insurance is a fellow not-for-profit which offers a network of health providers located across Australia to support, add benefits and improved services to members at a discounted rate.

Podium offers customer interaction technology (including two-way messaging and webchat). This provides the ability to invite customers via SMS and/or email to review local operations on local listings and to interact with customers via SMS and/or email, plus much more. Podium has assisted SPASA greatly with our strategic goal of increasing customer referrals to members.
