T h e f e s t i v a l c om m it t e e h a s worked hard all year to bring you this festival. People visit from all over the country to witness where “Moxie” is celebrated during the three-day annual event. This is an opportunity for those to reunite with fellow classmates, friends and family members who they don’t get to see but once a year as well as a chance to drink the beverage they so enjoyed as a kid.
The Moxie Day $5 pony rides will return on Saturday, July 12 at the MTM Center, 18 School Street.

This year’s festival theme is “It’s Always Moxie Season in Maine” wh ich you w i l l see d isplayed t h r o u g h o u t M a i n e ’s l a r g e s t parade. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 12, led by Grand Marshall Rick Belhumeur, organizer of Spirit of t he Wolf Pow Wow. Also new to the parade this year w ill be the L.L. Bean Boot mobi le. Ret u r n i ng is t he 70-member La keside Lut hera n Warrior Band from Lake Mills, Wisconsin. The 2014 Spirit of the Wolf Pow Wow at Lisbon High School has been canceled due to personal reasons. We would like to thank Rick Belhumeur and recognize him

ccording to Lisbon Public Safety Officials, an estimated 50,000 people attend the three-day Moxie Festival which will take place July 11-13, 2014. The town of Lisbon has approximately 9,300 residents.

New events at this year's Moxie Festival Three new entertainment venues will join the Moxie Festival this year: a four-day Carnival, a Vintage Baseball doubleheader on Saturday evening; and a 30- or 50-mile Bike Rally on Saturday morning. The Kavanaugh Amusement Carnival will open Thursday, July 10, at Don’s Automotive, Capital Avenue just off of Rt. 196. It will continue through Sunday, with rides, games, food and other activities for all ages. Thursday, 5:30-10 p.m. closing: Enjoy Moxie Festival special pricing of a $16 bracelet for unlimited rides; individual tickets sold also. Friday, 5:30-11 p.m. closing.No bracelets needed, tickets only. Saturday, noon-11 p.m. closing. No bracelets needed, tickets only.
On Saturday, July 12, the Moxie Day 30- and 50-mile Bike Rally begins at 8:30 a.m. rain or shine at Crafts Cars on Route 196 and ends at the Railroad Diner in Lisbon Falls. The first 50 registratants will receive commemorative mugs ($25 preregistration and $30 day of race). Bring a lawn chair on Saturday, July 12, to watch Maine’s Vintage Base Ball teams play a free double-header at Goddard Field at Lisbon High School. Vintage Base Ball is about reliving America’s favorite past time as it was played during its formative years in the nineteenth century and other historic eras. Vintage Base Ball teams across the country play in accordance with the rules, equipment, uniforms, field specifications, customs, practices, language, and behavioral norms of the period.
