In most cases, we can deliver the missing paper in the Lewiston-Auburn area MondayFriday 6 to 11 a.m. or Saturday/Sunday 7 to 10 a.m., or 6 to 9 a.m. on holidays.

Information about our Obituaries Obituary information is usually provided to us by the funeral home. Out-of-state deaths and burials of interest must be confirmed by us with the attending funeral home. There is a charge for obituaries, committal services and burials. Submit your letter to the editor

T

he Sun Journal encourages its readers to express their views in writing. Please limit letters to 250 words.

Letters must be signed, and must include the author’s full name, address (both residential and mailing, if different) and telephone number, for verification purposes only. Anonymous letters will not be printed.

How to submit Noteworthy business news

Y

our business is our business. We welcome news items on new businesses, relocations, new personnel, promotions, anniversaries divisible by 5, as well as upcoming events of interest to our readers. Noteworthy items are published on a firstcome, first-served basis six days a week. Electronic submissions speed the process, but we welcome typed releases as well. Please keep releases to three or four paragraphs. For electronic submissions, feel free to attach a digital photo in JPEG format (180 dpi) and e-mail them to noteworthy@sunjournal.com.

Paper releases and print photos can be mailed to Cam Churchill using our Lewiston address. Please include name and phone number of a person to contact if more information is needed.

How to submit Community News

C

lub news, honor rolls, student and military notes, public activities, reunions, generations — we want your community news and photographs. It’s what makes us your local news service. When writing your information, please include the 5 w’s: Who, What, Where, When and Why. Photos should be bright and clear. Identify the people in the photo from left to right and make sure the names are spelled correctly. If you want the photo returned, put your return address on the back. Electronic photos need to be in JPEG format and at least 180 dpi resolution, but not larger than 10MB. Send your community news item, including a contact name and phone number, to Connections at our Lewiston address or e-mail CommunityNews@sunjournal.com.

How to submit Entertainment News

W

e welcome your news and calendar items. Encore, which runs on the back two pages of the daily paper Tuesday through Saturday, features stories on concerts, plays, dances, fairs, art exhibits, book signings and other entertainment news. What’s Happening This Weekend calendar is published every Thursday. Submit your news at least 10 days prior to publication. un Spots is for your questions and comments which will be published as space allows. All submissions to Sun Spots must be written and signed. W

hat’s happening? You tell us! Let our extensive calendar listings help you spread the word about your upcoming event. We publish several calendars as a service to our readers. To help us correctly publicize your event, follow these guidelines: Mail, fax or e-mail your release rather than phoning it in. Include the name of the event, day, date, time, place, admission charge, if any, and phone number for further information. Include the name and phone number of a person we may contact if we have questions about the release. Check It Out, our daily calendar published Monday through Friday, by region, lists public events that are sponsored by nonprofit organizations (not including regular meetings or support groups). Submit items one and half to two weeks prior to the event. Please include the name and phone number of a person we can contact if we have questions about an item. W

eddings are usually published Sundays, within three weeks of submission. Engagements and anniversaries are also published on Sundays. Submit bright, clear color photos to go with your announcement.
