Greetings! I warmly invite you to come to Lisbon and learn why Maine’s annual Moxie Festival truly has Moxie – not just the soft drink, but real “Moxie.” Moxie is a great description for what has become a Maine summer tradition – not only for Mainers but also for many folks “from away.” Attendance records continue to be broken: 40,000 in 2010 followed by an estimated 50,000 in 2011. Since this is our special 30th anniversary, I recommend you come early and stay late! The Moxie Festival Committee is very happy to be able to entice you for this anniversary year with several exciting new events: •T he return of the Moxie Car Show on Sunday behind Lisbon High School;

•N ew games for young kids, and adult games of chance throughout the three days; • We are especially excited to announce that for the first time the successful “Summer Concertin-the-Park” music series will overlap with the Moxie Festival on Saturday evening of the Festival through the “Moxie Concert-in-the-Park.” The concert will include many excellent performers, and will feature two outstanding acts: • “The Mallet Brothers” (winners of the 2011 & 2012 Portland Phoenix Music Awards for “Best Local Act,” “Best Live Act,” and “Best Local Album”), and: •T he “Brian Maes Band.” Brian has toured and recorded with Peter Wolf of the J. Geils Band, and also with Barry Goudreau of the band Boston.

• A book signing at Kennebec Fruit Co. “Moxie Store” Saturday by Jim Baumer, local author of “MOXIE: Maine in a Bottle,” • Sunday the extremely popular Androscoggin River Race will again take place along with the return of the “Moxie Car Show” at the Lisbon High School.

Some participants in last year’s Moxie 5K Road Race came in costume. The concert will begin Saturday at 4 p.m. at Lisbon’s MTM Center (the former MTM Elementary School, located in Lisbon Falls) and will be FREE TO THE PUBLIC. In recognition of the new event, we have relocated our famous “Chicken BBQ Tent” to the MTM Center – it will serve award winning recipes from 4-7 p.m. Also new for 2012 will be adult games of chance Friday night at Lisbon High School prior to the annual Fireworks (MUCH better than what you can try to do in your backyard!). Adult and children’s games will also accompany the MTM Center activity all day Saturday. I am also happy to report to you the return of several very popular events: •F ree children’s games and pony rides on Saturday;

•F riday through Sunday: Native American Spirit of the Wolf Pow Wow; •S aturday morning: 5K Race and the Moxie Parade (LARGEST in Maine);

And, much, much more! I invite you to learn more about the exciting 2012 Moxie Festival, anytime, at our website:

www.moxiefestival.com Hope to see you in Lisbon on July 13, 14 & 15.

John Silvestri Chairman, Moxie Festival

Alternative country rockers headline Concert in the Park The Lisbon Promotion Committee and the Moxie Festival Committee are pleased to announce the first Moxie Concert in the Park from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, July 14 at “The Pavilion” by the MTM Center in Lisbon Falls. Alternative country rockers, The Mallett Brothers Band, will headline. Admission is free. The Mallett Brothers Band, fresh off a sweep of the top categories of the 2012 Portland Phoenix’ Best Music Awards, will play selections from their self-titled debut album, named the Top New Local Album of 2010 by Bull Moose Music. Joining the award-winning alt-country rockers will be the Brian Maes Band, one of New England’s most popular club acts. Maes, who hails from Boston’s North Shore, has toured with acts like Aerosmith and Deep Purple, and is a frequent collaborator with Peter Wolf of the J. Geils Band and Barry Goudreau of Boston.
