Grants Now Available for Council-Community Carbon Offset Program

Preparation of budget At its meeting on Tuesday 22nd April 2014, Moyne Shire Council resolved that the budget presented to that meeting be prepared. The budget relates to the financial year commencing 1st July 2014 and ending 30th June 2015. In accordance with the Local Government (Planning and Reporting) Regulations 2014, the following information is disclosed: Borrowings: 1. The projected amount borrowed by Council, as at 30 June 2014 is $3,530,382. 2. The total amount proposed to be borrowed by the Council during the financial year is zero. 3. The total amount projected to be redeemed during the financial year is $622,780. 4. The projected amount borrowed by Council, as at 30 June 2015 is $2,907,601. 5. The projected cost of servicing the borrowings during the financial year is $183,422. Rates and municipal charges: 6. A general rate of 0.0021815 cents in the dollar of Capital Improved Value is proposed. 7. A cultural and recreational land rate of 0.0005454 cents in the dollar of Capital Improved Value is proposed. 8. A municipal charge of $230 is proposed. Service charges: 9. An annual kerbside collection service charge for the collection of general, recycling and organics waste for residential properties of $305 is proposed. 10. An annual State Government landfill levy charge for the collection of general, recycling and organics waste for residential properties of $12 is proposed 11. An annual waste facility service charge for the disposal of refuse of $117 for improved properties and $30 for unimproved properties is proposed.
