Mr. Pridemore, In reference to the above mentioned project it has come to our attention that the use of the brake shaped metal for use in attaching the flange of the fire barrier system is a concern. Referenced in the following detail is UL assembly FF-D-2009 that outlines the requirement of the flanges, see 3.A. The intent of the listing is state the requirements of the flange attachment for proper fastener placement and size. It is in our opinion that this attachment point will not affect the performance of the fire barrier and is acceptable for use as shown.
