- The foods you eat play a major role in maintaining the health and moisture of your skin. Only if your skin remains well-hydrated internally also, it can retain moisture. - You need to get Vitamin D also for maintaining the health of your skin. This vitamin is available in abundance in sunlight and hence, you must go for walks in the mornings as well as during evenings, But at the same time, you must avoid excessive exposure to sun's rays in order to prevent formation of wrinkles and fine lines in the skin. Sun's heat may not be very severe before 9 AM and after 4 PM and these are ideal hours for exposing your skin to sunlight.
- Learn to manage your stress levels because stress may also cause dryness of the skin by reducing blood flow. You can practice yoga or meditation to manage your stress well. In fact, a wisely designed exercises regimen can increase the blood flow to your skin thus facilitating supply of enough nutrients to it.
- Refrain from using foaming washes because they may contain sulphate detergents. These chemicals may aggravate the problem of dry skin. Instead, opt for gentle cleansers, lotions and oils that may be soothing to your skin. Likewise, use only rich creams that can gently hydrate the skin. Ensure to use the creams as frequently as possible to keep your skin supple.
- Never forget to apply a good sunscreen lotion or a cream before venturing out into sun. In fact, you must use your sunscreen even during winters.
