Corona
with
Gratitude
‘Corona with Gratitude’ is a response to the world facing one of the most challenging periods in recent history. The project uses photography as a tool to not only help raise awareness to the importance of mental wellbeing but also provide those involved with a practical activity where they can be reminded about the small and important things that are often overlooked in our daily lives. For a minimum of 9 days, each person was asked to take a photo every day of a moment or thing that they were grateful for. These photos are then paired with a portrait of each participant taken over Zoom, to reflect the change in how we can communicate and interact with each other. So far over 32 participants have taken part from 9 different countries across 4 continents. ‘I think I speak for everyone when I say this project has definitely had a positive impact on my mental health, which is not an easy feat in these unprecedented times.’ Anneka Dew, UK participant.

Second helpings and trips to the seaside
This collection of images reflect various visits to see my Grandma in Somerset. Alongside adapting to the ebbs and flows of her daily life, our days together would often involve a day trip to some nearby coastline.
Becky is a social documentary and portrait photographer based in London. Told with sensitivity and a respect for whoever she is working with, her work aims to bring the human aspect of stories to life. She is interested in collaborating with her subject whenever possible, and is increasingly looking to incorporate participatory methods within her work. In part, Becky attributes this approach to experiences she had whilst working within the charity sector for 8 years. During this time she lived and worked overseas for a year, created new community fundraising products and delivered workshops for young people.
