Confinement
As individuals around the world deal with the current COVID-19 pandemic in their own way, one thing a large number of people are having to learn - is how to deal with social restrictions. My three flatmates and I, relatively sociable and busy people, find ourselves confined to our apartment with many aspects of our lives on hold; having to find ways to stay motivated and productive. We chase the natural light around the living room - certain windows are our lifeblood. This series shows our space, and how we interact with it while being forced to spend more time inside than we are used to. I shot Confinement on a 4x5 view camera I kept set up in the living room with film ready to photograph my flatmates and our environment. I used the resources I had available to get developing equipment and taught myself to develop my film in my bathroom to produce this series while being confined to my apartment.
Shopkeepers of La Goutte d’Or (Work in progress)
La Goutte d’Or has a reputation for crime & violence, however if one takes the time to step inside and explore they will be exposed to a neighbourhood of Paris that is bursting to the brim with different ethnicities. A blend largely of different African cultures with other minorities and old Parisian businesses. This series celebrates the people that give La Goutte d’Or its peculiar charm. I found myself in La Goutte d’Or randomly one afternoon and was immediately drawn to it. After exploring the area it was the small stores and local busniess that interested me most and gave me a real sense of community that I want to show through this series

Biography
I am an Italo-New Zealand visual storyteller currently based in Paris. Photography has allowed me to look differently at the world and to capture all of its beauties and imperfections. Over the last ten years I have lived all around the world and I have experienced the richness of the most diverse cultures and lifestyles. This journey has led me to Paris where, after graduating SpĂŠos, I intend to stay and further my career focusing on and documentry portraiture.
