Parigi, primi anni ’70. Affascinato dalle geometrie e dalle linee futuristiche che lo renderanno celebre protagonista della Haute Couture, Pierre Cardin progetta una serie di arredi dal design maestoso e intrigante, vere e proprie sculture che, alla personalità artistica, sommano la funzione arredativa: le “Sculptures Utilitaires”. Nasce così una lussuosa collezione di letti, tavoli, madie, sedie, lampade, sculture che hanno fatto il giro del mondo, non solo arredando le residenze di molte celebrità, ma anche arricchendo prestigiose collezioni d’arte a New York, Londra, Parigi, Montecarlo e molte altre location e città. Oggi FORME ripropone al pubblico la collezione originale, integrata da pezzi di nuova concezione firmati dal talentuoso scultore-designer Rodrigo Basilicati, nipote dello stilista. Caleidoscopico sperimentatore di forme e materiali, Rodrigo realizza artigianalmente con una equipe di esperti maestri le Sculpures Utilitaires, imprimendo uno stile personale, ma sempre in perfetta continuità e simbiosi con lo zio.
Paris, early 70s. Fascinated by the shapes and futuristic lines that make him famous Haute Couture’s designer, Pierre Cardin created a series of futuristic and amazing sculptures that add the decorating function to the artistic personality: the “Sculptures Utilitaires”. The result is a luxurious collection of beds, tables, cupboards, chairs, lamps, sculptures that have been around the world, not only furnishing homes of many celebrities, but also they were present in prestigious art gallery in New York, London, Paris, Monaco and many other locations and cities. FORME company now presents to the public the original collection, re-edited by the talented sculptor-designer Rodrigo Basilicati, grandson of the designer Cardin. Kaleidoscopic experimenter of forms and materials, Rodrigo creates Sculpures Utilitaires with a team of expert wood-craftsmen, giving a personal style, but always in perfect harmony and continuity with his uncle’s style.

Una Sculpure Utilitaire non è un semplice mobile, ma un investimento che, proprio come un’opera d’arte, accresce il suo valore nel tempo. La serialità è un concetto bandito dalla produzione dell’atelier: ogni pezzo viene proposto in edizione limitata ed è dunque un esemplare raro destinato a divenire il punto focale dello spazio in cui verrà collocato e a trasformarlo con la magia e il fascino della più raffinata creatività italiana. Estro creativo e sapienza artigiana si susseguono durante la lavorazione, eseguita completamente in Italia, dal progetto alle fasi finali di laccatura e lucidatura. Alcune funzioni o trattamenti estetici delle Sculptures Utilitaires possono venire personalizzati su richiesta dei clienti-collezionisti, per assecondarne maggiormente il gusto e le necessità arredative. La consegna è l’atto finale di un processo produttivo artigianale complesso e prezioso, suggellato da un certificato di autenticità sul quale è indicato il numero di serie di ogni pezzo, prova dell’unicità di quanto realizzato e del suo pregio.
Sculpure Utilitaire is not just a furniture, but an investment, just like a piece of art, its value increases over the years. Seriality is a concept which is not shared by Pierre Cardin atelier: every piece is available just in limited edition. Everywhere you decide to put this masterpiece it becomes the focus attraction point of the room, thanks to the magic and charm of the finest Italian creativity . Creativity and handmade experience take place during production process, entirely featured in Italy, from design to final lacquering and polishing stages. Some features (like colors, dimensions or treatments) can be customized on request, in order to satisfy every single needs. The delivery is the final act of a complex and precious handicraft production process, sealed with a certificate of authenticity stating the serial number of each piece, proof of the uniqueness of the product and its quality.

The Palais Lumière of Pierre Cardin in Venice: a living sculpture. 65 Piani, sei dischi di forma circolare distanti 35 metri l’uno dall’altro, sostenuti da tre torri disposte a forma di stella. Una superficie abitativa coperta di circa 27 ettari accoglierà dimore, luxury hotel, aree verdi. 65 Floors, six circular discs, 35 meters distant from each other, supported by three towers arranged in a star shape. A surface area of 27 hectares will host residences, luxury hotels, parks and gardens.

During the years his products excited, dressed, decorated, integrating the beauty as part of everyday life: the signature of Pierre Cardin is a multifaceted concepts. Palais Lumière, which represents the visionary genius of Cardin back to Venice, is the ultimate expression of his philosophy: a 820 feet buildingsculpture which light the night with colours, inspired by the grace flowers in a vase, hosting residences, hotels, restaurants, roof gardens, pools and other ambiences, places where people can live and socialise in a sustainable architectural and human environmental.
