Is “Stitch & Bitch” a step too far?
The Pies Have It! Voted one of Ian Jelfs best town walks, we’re off to discover the delights of Tipton this Sunday. Tipton is a town that has left its mark on the whole world. Birthplace of early steamships and cars; cradle of the industrial revolution; inland waterways; Georgian architecture; civil war and many hidden secrets besides. It’s also world famous for luscious pies and we have a chance to enjoy one at the famous “Pie Factory” at the end. What could be more perfect for a Sunday out? Click HERE
Who’s up for a Mingle? Sunday Afternoon is another opportunity to join us for a “New Members Mix & Mingle” at the Arden Hotel. These popular events are all about making new friends and getting off to a fast start with Spice. You don’t have to be a new member to take part as all members are welcome. So come and join Roy Martin and the Spice Crew for a sociable couple of hours of fun. Click HERE
Spice is “The Adventure Group” but we all know that life’s “adventures” come in all types. Our baking and book clubs have been a great success and have also raised significant sums for charities (Book Club alone has resulted in over 300 books being placed in schools and libraries in Sub Saharan Africa since we started in 2011!). With sewing and knitting becoming trendy we have now had requests for a regular “Stitch & Bitch” event for members which I am told involves eating cake, drinking tea and socialising (that must be the “bitch” bit!) whilst crafting your sewing/knitting creation. But is this a step too far away from the adventurous philosophy of our group – you tell us! I have set up a conversation “thread” (sorry!) on our Facebook page where you can “bitch” all you like about whether we’re on the right “tack”(sorry again!). As ever, this Bulletin is designed to give you a quick overview of what is happening this week in Spice. “Anything in blue - should click through”.
New Venue for our Solihull Joggers Last night was the first get together of our new jogging group with Mark Thursfield in Solihull. They had a great jog together at Tudor Grange, but have decided to move to a better venue for future Wednesday evenings. So from next Wednesday they will be jogging in Brueton Park. Brueton Park is on Warwick Road and has a car park where they will meet. To join them Click HERE
