Weekly Bulletin Issue 54. May 30th 2013
Hot Off The Press! As I write this bulletin new events are rolling in. Yesterday, the Alexandra Theatre announced that Sir Roger Moore, Mr 007 himself, is coming to Birmingham for his one man show. No doubt there will be some great stories to tell. Wicked, the successful West End Show is on its way to the Hippodrome in the New Year. The behind the scenes programme goes from strength to strength with fascinating new talks and places to visit. Look out interesting and exciting events at Coombe Abbey. We are also revisiting some old favourite events too. Llama Trekking in the idyllic Wye Valley, a walk with a difference click HERE. You will walk with llamas and a Bulgarian Donkey (called Geoffrey). The animals are well trained and don’t spit! Whatever you chose to do enjoy it!
Sport Thought Explore the sports programme a little further with a new Darts night & Buffet evening at Riley's. Try something completely different and learn to ride a BMX with our BMX Taster Session. The sporting programme is going from strength to strength. You don’t just need the gym to keep fit!
Here Comes Summer.. After a glorious weekend of Bank Holiday weather and hopefully more sunny days to come we are making the most of the long days and light evenings. This is the season for rambling in the countryside, at the end of a busy day. Soar into the sky in a glider, cruise or paddle along the river. Enjoy a picnic at an outdoor concert, play, or afternoon tea at a Stately Home. We had great feedback from last weekends Croquet Party on the beautifully manicured lawns of Edgbaston Croquet Club. We enjoyed the sun with a glass of sparkling, perfect! The Summer Ball is now filling fast as we return to the Botanical Gardens. With more than 200 now having booked the event, this promises to be a wonderful night. There will be an evening of great entertainment and a delicious meal to indulge in. In August we are looking forward to boarding The MV Conway Castle for our annual Riverboat Party Night cruise on the River Severn. With exclusive use of the boat and a disco it is time to party. There is an option of coach travel to the event, so no need to drive. The legendary Cosford Airshow is only a matter of weeks away, this time with a behind the scenes visit. We are linking up with Simon Footer from the RAF Benevolent Fund who will introduce us to people, pilots and places that the general public don’t see. Don’t miss this one!
Photo of the Week The much coveted photo of the week prize goes to Andrew Wiley for his photo of White Water Rafting taken last weekend. To see the photo, click HERE
