Photo Competition the Judging has Begun The closing date for entries has passed and all our “Trees” are in. You can browse the whole gallery on Flickr HERE or Facebook HERE. As the competition supports autism charities, the pupils at Jane Lane Special School in Walsall have spent this week coming up with their “Children’s Choice” selections. At the same time, photography students at Birmingham City University are judging for the “Photographers Choice” awards. We are also planning a special evening exhibition of all the entries at Winterbourne Gardens to coincide with Autism Awareness Month in April. Thanks to all of you who have entered into the spirit of this unusual charity event.

Photo of the Week The much coveted photo of the week award goes to David Owen for his unusual pic of weary Spicers on the Ludlow Challenge Hike last Saturday. Click HERE

Do they know it’s World Book Day? If you have had to send a child into school in a Gryffindor Scarf or a Where’s Wally T Shirt, you will know that today is World Book Day. (I just wrapped mine in gaffer tape and told them they were 50 Shades of Grey! – only kidding of course) But it seems a good day to give mention to the 3rd anniversary of our Spice Book Club and that the running total of our monthly collections has just exceeded £1000 (to which they add Gift Aid). The money goes to Bookaid who use it to send books to schools and libraries in Sub Saharan Africa. I understand that we are now responsible for over 600 books being placed overseas. Not bad for a small group of people meeting to discuss books and eating homemade cakes each month! So if you see a picture of an African child reading a book, think of the hundreds of cakes and fun evenings in the Spice office that made this possible! As ever, this Bulletin is designed to give you a quick overview of what is happening this week in Spice. “Anything in blue - should click through”.
