LETTER FROM THE EDITOR Dear Readers, Thank you for taking the time to read our first class publication! Over the course of the quarter 1, students in my Multimedia and Web Design Class have been studying the graphic design principles and elements. Having a working knowledge of these topics lends itself nicely to creating aesthetically pleasing compositions and layouts. To put my students' skills to the test, we decided as a class to assemble the magazine in which you are reading. Students voted on a theme for the magazine namely gaming, and after a few discussions about presenting interesting content, students then agreed to focus on top 10 lists based on feedback from their potential audiences. After hours of work researching, writing articles, experimenting with layouts and revising, this magazine has made it into your hands. All that we ask in return is that you enjoy its content and, hopefully, it spurs discussion about an industry that has grown from humble beginnings in the 1970's and 80's into the multi-billion dollar industry that it has today. There are few things in this world that bring people together quite like video games, and we hope that this magazine helps us to take another step in that direction. Happy reading!

he first time I played Mario Kart it was on mt phone I was playing Mario Kart Tour. I'm really not that good its probably because I don't play it much because of this bully named Dajuan. he takes my phone every day and if I don't give it do him he will tell me he will fight me. I think its fun to play and some of the characters look cool and I only like to play with a pacific character. Some might like the one I play with so I made my top 10 character that I like to play with.

I have always preferred what the indie game market has to offer as opposed to the triple A producers. Some of my favorite and most played games come from individual people and companies. It astonishes me and many others how much a single person can make with enough passion and drive. So I want to highlight this year's creative, innovative, and superlative Indie games.

A satisfying 2.5d shooter that might be lacking in story, but makes up for it in tight controls, great level design and gratifying combat. This game succeeds in one major thing and that is making the player feel undoubtedly COOL.
My Friend Pedro A delightful puzzle game where the rules of the game are what you make of them. In this game you are a white rabbit thing and you are presented a puzzle with rules.
Baba Is You A 2d slash-em-up game where you are a nameless samurai assassin with the power to manipulate time and see into the future. He uses that vision to plan out his assassination and when he dies by one-hitkill the character responds “No.. that won’t work,” as your attempt is rewinded to the beginning with a rewind VCR effect.

With a pleasing art style and sound track it's hard not to get enticed in your own little world of your colony. But this game still has its challenges, with so many things to manage, research, build, mine, grow, and so much more, it can be kinda stressful especially when you get attached to any of the duplicants. While using the bullet time you can watch yourself flip of a ledge and crash through a window as you shoot enemies to oblivion and then latch onto a hook upside down and continue your carnage. This game also introduces many new mechanics from using a frying pan to ricochet bullets into enemies to kicking knives and body parts at unsuspecting opponents. Overall, this game is meant to be played for the wildly cool factor.
For example: BaBa is you, Wall is stop, or Flag is win. You have these rules and you can modify them in many different ways, like make Baba is rock and now the player you move is a rock. With pretty much complete freedom of bending the entire games rules on a whim the puzzles can be completed in multiple ways. Sometimes your working on a puzzle and you may accidentally put together Rock is level and suddenly you are dragged back to the select screen and on a rock a new level magically appears. This game is full of surprises and with 200 creatively mind boggling levels to unlock and discover it is pleasant challenge. This games overall aesthetic is gorgeous with slick neon lighting, retro-electro soundtrack,the stunning sprite work, and 2D lighting effects that tie it all together. The combat too is quite impressive where your samurai can slice in eight directions, dodge roll, deflect bullets with his sword, and slow down time. The samurai’s ability to slow down time is implemented well and it isn't mandatory and serves as a last resort for tough situations. Then there's the story and while its not as impressive as the visuals or actions it does have good writing and some great characters. Also an innovative dialogue system allows for altered dialogue for skipping or not skipping characters lines. This can result in a unique experience for each playthrough.
So, this beautifully handcrafted 2d game with expansive controls, satisfying gameplay, with a well thought out story, sound, music, and visuals definitely deserves, in my opinion, the 4 number one spot for 2019 indie games

inecraft is a very well known game that has been around for a while. Many people have played it since they were kids, and it's a known favorite game of many. Minecraft is a building game at heart, but there are also many survival aspects to it. You can build, fight, survive, mine, and of course, craft. This game allows for the survival aspect that we all enjoy, while still allowing the player to be as creative as they want to be. It has extremely simple graphics, but still keeps the player engaged. This is one of those games where you can really start from the bottom and get to the top by building and surviving, and that's why Minecraft was placed at the top.

2. Ark Survival Evolved Ark is honestly an amazing game. You can build, farm, tame dinosaurs, and do so much more and it has amazing graphics. It also has a huge exploration factor to it. If you want to play with others, you can join them on official servers. The only problem I have with this game is that if you want to play with just one other person/group of people, it gets kind of tricky. If you don't have an extra console laying around to make your own official server to play on, you'll have to play the game while being extremely close to each other, which can get annoying. Ignoring this fact, this game is quite good, and very fun to play with others.

Subnautica is a very fun game. I've played a good bit of it, and from what ive seen, it's a well made survival horror game, which includes some story implements. You have to collect many types of resources, and you have to build things for yourself. This includes a base. There is also an amazing amount and variety of wildlife and plants, and it's definitely a game I would recommend for people. The main flaw with this game for me would probably be the multiplayer aspect, or the lack thereof. However, on PC you can play multiplayer thanks to a mod made by a fan of the game.

Terraria is an extremely intricate and well made 2D survival game. It involves building up a house, and searching underground for ores and secret rooms with chests filled with loot. There is also a combat element to it. This combat element is originally triggered by the night, and you'll be fighting against zombies and floating eyeballs till morning comes.

I have spent hours on this game, and I can safely safe it is definitely more survival based that story based. It's a game you can play as just a survival game, or you can do more of the story parts, and either way you can still play the game and enjoy it. It is very fun, and keeps you entertained. You have to build, find food and water, and survive. Oh, and don't forget the cannibals you have to fight! The only real issue with this game is that (as of right now) it is only on PS4 and computer, which isn't very fun for people with Xbox Ones.
6. Rust Rust is a fairly good survival game. Think of an extremely brutal and‌ uncensored version of Minecraft. This includes farming of the land, or stealing from other players. The only real issue would be that they don't split up servers for newbies and people who have been playing for much longer. This means that if you're a newbie, you could end up fighting a player who has a pistol with a stick.

Raft is, from what ive played of it, is a great game. It involves surviving on a raft, and building said raft up. You do this with a hook that you spawn with, by throwing it off the boat and reeling materials in. I've spent many hours playing this game, and to me, the main survival factor of this is the extreme amount of exploration. I'm talking about multiple planets type exploration. Astroneer is also slightly story based, which is nice. You also have to gather resources to proceed, which keeps you occupied and doesn't let you move through the story in a flash.

Don't Starve Don't starve is a relatively well made survival indie game, which, in my opinion, has a really cool and interesting art style, which really shows the creativity of the game developers. Don't starve also has a sandbox type quality, which is almost always appreciated in survival games. Having this aspect really allows players to be creative within the game. The only real issue would be that you have to get the expansion pack to play with other people.
10. Dying Light
Dying Light is a great game, but it was placed at the bottom for the fact it is extremely story based. You have to find food to bring your health up, and are constantly running from zombies. You feel like a great player when playing this game because it has a large parkour aspect, and you will literally fly through the map once you learn the controls. Over all it's a great game, it's just largely story based, which is why it's placed at the bottom.

Torches
Torches are useful when you go mining but not all people use torches to go mining because there's an alternative and that is cranking your gamma to the max. thats what mostly minecrafters usually do instead of wasting coal and sticks for torches. But the good thing about torches is when you use them mobs don't spawn. Also when you don't have a good sense of direction thats a great way to find a path home.
Gold
Gold is a good material but not really good for everything it is used mainly to make gapples and god apples. Most people use them to help survive a very intense battle with mobs raids and even other players.Gold is a fun material also for looks the very shiny material isn't that strong for armor and weapons.
Diamond Diamonds are valuable and they are really rare minerals in the game, but think do you really need diamonds to beat the all mighty ender dragon? Diamonds are good for armor and mining tools and weapons sure but are they really necessary for a single player world?
Coal Coal is a really valuable resource and is used to cook all the food. Cause raw food can make you sick and doesn't give you the saturation you need for all your activities. Also coal is used to make torches. coal is a really underestimated by the use of the mineral but is very useful.

Gapples Gapples are very useful for battles and all that. The potion effects are needed to win battles. And it gives you extra life hearts, life hearts which are very important in battling. The most powerful is the all mighty the most OP is the God apple or notch apple.

Also wood are the most basic building blocks meaning its the easiest to obtain. Most houses are made of mostly wood and other materials but wood is always the main block used in all of minecraft. Have you ever been playing Minecraft and wondered why is this item/mob in the game? Same. Here’s a top 10 on it. Written by : Lalli the GOAT 8.Awkward Potions 10. Phantom I’m referring the the potion Membrane The Phantom Membrane is loot obtained from killing phantoms. They’re only used for repairing broken elytras and potions of slow falling. They are very easily obtainable but are rarely used.
9.Wandering Trader The Wandering Trader is a non-hostile mob that can trade with you. It is accompanied with two llamas. The Wandering Trader mob is really only used for being killed for their leads. Players find the mob too much of an investment to constantly trade pointless items before he actually gives good trades.

Gravel is a building block that is easily obtainable. You can get this item from caves, strip mining and sometimes even as a surface block. In caves, it can suffocate you if it falls on top of you. It piles up in your inventory and is only used as a source for flint.

The clock is an item that can be crafted. When crafted, you can place it on a wall and it will tell you what the time of day it is. This is a useless item because if that was the case, just look outside and see where the sun is.

10.Explorer Lite Explorer Lite is the only game on this list to be the most similar to MInecraft. The game has similar colors and blocks. You can find large ships in the water. The game in general is still fun but it can’t be compared to Minecraft.
8.World Craft In this game the colors will be more dull or sometimes more bright. The game also includes zombies but the whole graphics are lower quality. All of the blocks look different then the Minecraft blocks. To sum it up, this game basically looks really bad.
9.Block Craft 3D Block Craft 3D isn’t as similar to MInecraft. They have different animals, an example would be tigers. They’re buildings have a more modern look. This game has roads and cars, whereas Minecraft has no roads and no cars. The graphics do not compare to Minecrafts elite graphics.
7.iLands The grass blocks have a brighter shade of green. The graphics look very bland and don’t have a visual sense of feel. The colors for the materials is different and seem boring. The game has skyscrapers. The game appears to have no animals, people or monsters.

Top Ten Minecraft Knockoffs 6.Fairy Craft 2 The game has people, animals, skeletons and other characters not seen in Minecraft. The setting has more of a mystical vibe. The game also has more added characters that will help you. In Minecraft you have to build everything yourself which adds more of a challenge making it more fun. The game also has different elements that are not in minecraft at all.
4.Lunacraft The game as the name suggests takes place at night. The moon in the game is an alien moon. The game does not appear to have nature elements. All of the blocks are different colors. The game has no people or animals. It’s just a boring game in general. 1.Ibuilder It’s probably best if you go and look at this on your own. I don’t have enough words to describe how horrid this game is. The amount of disrespect they showed while making this game is unbelievable. The setting is completely different and the game has the worst graphics I have ever seen. There are no people or animals. The whole game in itself is so plain.
5.Pocket Craft The control buttons are are pixelated and yellow. The vegetation looks similar to the one in Minecraft. The game has large abandoned like structures. The fire and water elements in this game have terrible graphics.

3.MiniCraft This game was released in 2011. The game looks as if you were playing it on a GameBoy Advanced. It was designed by one of the designers from Minecraft, Markus Persson. The game has people but not animals. The setting doesn’t have a lot of variety.
2.PetraVis I would say this game is in a category of its own. The colors used in the game does not fit the theme of Minecraft at all. Some of the blocks are different. You can find neon green flowers in the game. It’s a terrible game, it looks unprofessional and homemade.

4 BEST AND MOST SIMPLEST MAPS Nacht Der Untoten This map will be the easiest map you have ever played. It brings back the old school strategy of just getting a weapon and training zombies or camping. If you open the door that says help, behind it you will see that the box is there and you get hit it and get the weapon it gives you and every box hit is randomized. The correct term for the box would be mystery box. The best gun to get for this map would be ray gun and MG42 LMG.
Nuketown 2020 Alright so getting into nuketown, once you spawn in start looking for a weapon and kill the zombies that's all this map is about. But there is one thing to do. What you should do when waiting is to listen for the siren that goes off every 2 rounds. These sirens you hear are either gonna be a perk machine or the pack a punch. You might get lucky and get the pack a punch machine on round 1 and get juggernog (Red perk drink) the next round.
Kino Der Toten Ok so this map right here is way easier than nacht der untoten. The fact that this is easier is because you have more areas in the map where you can train zombies. There are also three space rocks in the map that play the 115 theme song and the locations of them would be the room outside, the dressing room in the corner, and the spawn area. The only perk that is activated is gonna be quick revive which is only activated on solo not public matches.

Today I'm gonna to talk to you about the 10 best cod zombies maps of all time. These are some of the most fun game modes to be able to shoot off their heads and blow them up with explosives. But sometimes in some of these maps they might be a little bit scary because the bosses in them are hard to kill.

Town Survival This is fun too, however there is a downside to this map. Everywhere you go in the map there will always be lava which is very bad. You miss the bus, you have to run. If you miss the bus that you take to get to the next destination you will have to run there and it will not be good cause you have to fight these little denizens your head that scratch you. Also there will be a few zombies that will also try to attack you and some of them are on fire.

6 BEST AND WORT CHALLENGING MAPS FOR THE EASTER EGG GAMERS Der Eisendrache This map has a ton of tasks to do in here. One of them is to feed three dragon heads in order to get a bow called Wrath of the ancients. This bow is strong until round 14 There is this one boss called the panzersoldat and he is sometimes hard to defeat. You can choose one of the 4 bows which is called the Kreema'ahm la Ahmahm which includes fire, lightning, wolf, and void. Each of the bows has a strong power.
Zetsubou No Shima Are you terrified of spiders? Well The easy way to kill a spider boss that comes in while you do the easter, you shoot his mouth and kill all of the minions and keep doing that until it dies. There are also some little mini easter egg that are fun to do. One of the easter egg is you can spawn in one of the characters and if you go towards them they will scare you and it's actually funny. The steps to do this is very complicated.
Shangri-La This is by far the hardest easter egg to ever complete. The only way to complete this easter egg is to have a team of four you cannot do it solo cause its hard to do. There are tiny monkeys in here that try to take your perk. Once they get to it they bring their little buddies and they destroy the perk machine which takes off the perk from the inventory.
Gorod Krovi Gorod Krovi is bad because they are dragons and you have to try and avoid them when you’re playing this map. The boss battle is also the hard because you have to defeat Nikolai. This easter egg is somewhat hard to complete and also The way to turn on the power for the whole location is somewhat easy. First you have to gather three pieces for the machine in the control room after that is finished then the power is turned on.
Origins Do you like giant robots? Well you are in luck because there are three in here that carry one part of the wind staff. This map is pretty powerful once its upgraded. There is also three more staffs that are stronger than the wind staff. But the one that is better than all of them would be the fire and lightning. The fire bow shoots lava out while the lightning bow shoots bolts of electricity to the zombies.
Dead Ops Arcade There isn't an easter egg for this but this the worst map out of all of these. This is bad because you have to turn towards the zombies which is annoying. The only thing you do in this game is shoot with the analog stick on the controller. And the only gun you have is a Machine gun not else the other guns have limited ammo.

He wields a stage light, and, if the players get too close, he will hit the player with it and go into a fit of rage. If he is either lead into water or shot with the V-R11, he will calm back down. He has a massive amount of health, and, if he is defeated, he will retreat into the water for a few rounds, then return. He also has the ability to shock nearby zombies and make them more powerful. He will also become irritated if he is shot, but, if he is in the water when he is shot, he will take damage, but his mood will be unaffected.
Cosmonaut //Moon It’s an Astronaut that will grab you and hold of one of the players, he will headbutt them and teleport them to a random location. When killed, he explodes in a nonlethal burst that knocks any nearby players back. He respawns after 2-3 rounds
Created by ErisHerrera I would say that the Panzer was one of the hardest to kill because it would just be annoying to deal with it would have have a flamethrower, a grabber, and a powerful melee attack.The only way way to pretty much to kill him is by shooting his head but it’s difficult to do that when he’s chasing after you.
Warden///Mob Of The Dead He is taller than the player, and wields a Police Baton. One hit is enough to turn a player's screen red, 2 hits means death. He has the ability to lock Crafting Benches, Perk-AColas, and even the Mystery Box. The only way to unlock whatever the warden has locked is to buy it back for 2000 points. When he dies, he drops a random power-up. He has a tremendous amount of health, but if players manages to remove his helmet, his head is very vulnerable.
Witches//Buried They are Ghosts with somewhat low health that spawn once players enter the mansion. If you have points, you will lose 2000 points every time they get too close. If you run out You think you have of points, then they the chance to beat start inflicting the impossible random amounts of zombie bosses?? damage. If players make it through the mansion while the lights in the windows are on, and all of the ghosts are defeated, you are rewarded with a free perk.

Space monkeys//Ascencion

They are small monkeys in Space Suits that attack the players and Perk-ACola Machines. If the players do not stop the monkeys from attacking a Perk-ACola Machine in time, the machine will be disabled for a few rounds, and, if a player owned the disabled perk, they will lose the perk.
Hellhounds///Almost all maps The hellhounds was like a boss round but they were pretty easy to kill they would always drop a max ammo after you defeated them. Description how they looked like Dogs shrouded in flames that spawn in special rounds
