Google Books allows you to view books in either limited preview or in their entirety online. How do they do this? Any book that is scanned and put online whether it is just a page or two or the entire book goes into their search engine. Then when you search for it, Google Books will show you the entire thing. How they decide on how much of a book to show is determined by the copyright laws? If a book is out of copyright, the entire book can be viewed and even downloaded as a PDF.
