100 Pennies drive meets, exceeds goal Through the end of March, more than 1,100 donations were made to the 2001-2002 SPJST 100 Pennies Scholarship Drive for a grand total of $18,739.94. The tally exceeds this year's goal of $15,000 by 25 percent. "We had an outstanding scholarship drive this year," says Supreme Lodge President Howard Leshikar, whose department coordinated the fund raising effort. "We want to thank everyone who contributed for their generosity. As a result of your support and commitment, many of our young SPJST members will be in a much better position to attend or continue their college educations."
While this posting concludes the 2001-2002 100 Pennies Scholarship Fund Drive, donations, including memorials, are gratefully accepted year round. A recent listing of memorial donors appears on page five of this week's Vestnik. The names of donors received between this posting and the beginning of next year's drive will be held and posted when the 2002-2003 drive begins on October 1, 2002. If you have any questions or comments regarding the program, please contact State Fraternal Activities Coordinator Gladys Yates at (800) 727-7578. The final listing of contributors follows. Those who have contributed $50 or more are in boldface type.
