With a Little Help from Our Friends The SPJST Home Office hosted its annual Texas 5i..1a--;,:)cue Lunch on June 20 with all proceeds going towards the purchase of the Temple Fire and Rescue Fire Safety House — a mobile unit used to train children to protect themselves in time of natural disaster or fire. More than 1,600 plates were served — thanks in large part to the assistance received from Temple firefighters and lodge members who pitched in to lend a hand. Dog Days of Summer? That's the Third Place photo in the Ages 15-17 Category from last year's State Youth Achievement Day photography competition. The photo of "Waldo" by Nicholas Vahalik of Lodge4, Halletsville wears a person out just looking at it. Last year's photo contest was a real hit and a first for State Youth Achievement Day.
