x t r a o r d i n a r y. That’s the word that comes to Supreme Lodge Vice President Gene McBride’s mind when asked to describe the year 2004 in SPJST. “What an awesome year it’s been,” Vice President McBride says. “Our goal was to achieve more in 2004, and our amazing team of dedicated sales representatives, lodges and youth clubs, Home Office personnel, directors, and officers went above and

beyond to break many records in SPJST.” Preliminary reports indicate that almost 4,000 applications were written in 2004. This number represents an approximate 22 percent increase over the 3,028 applications written in 2003. Applications for insurance written over the last four years represent an astounding increase in production when compared to production statistics in the years preceding 2001. “Thank you to the SPJST membership for believing in the program and for constantly supporting SPJST,” remarks Brother McBride. “We owe all of the program’s success to our members.” A new year brings on a new membership campaign. “This year’s program is bigger and better than ever before,” Brother McBride states. “It’s designed so everyone can win—lodges, lodge officers, districts, sales representatives, lodge members, youth clubs, youth club members, DYCs, youth leaders, and district youth clubs. The program is about all departments coming together and working as one big team for SPJST. That’s what makes it successful, and that’s what makes it special.”
Challenge 2005 The theme of the 2005 membership campaign is “Challenge 2005 — Soaring to New Heights.” Lodge incentive awards will be based primarily upon the number of applications written, says Vice President McBride. The SPJST Insurance Department will maintain all membership recruitment records, and progress reports will be issued monthly in the Vestnik. The membership campaign is filled with incentives for lodges and youth clubs, sales representatives, lodge officers and lodge members — both old and young. The 2005 incentive program is outlined as follows:
Challenge 2005 Application Quota The application quota for the state is 2,500 applications for the year January 1, 2005, through December 31, 2005. This number reflects a five percent increase over the 2004 statewide quota. The state must meet the 2,500 application quota and the lodge must achieve its individual lodge quota before any of the incentives listed are awarded.
SPJST is Number One! Thanks to the winning team of dedicated sales representatives across the state for making 2004 a year to celebrate in the SPJST. The SPJST Insurance Department is gearing up for another successful year in 2005. Supreme Lodge Vice President Gene McBride, seated, left, and State Training Coordinator Jim Wiest, seated, right, introduced this year’s membership campaign— Challenge 2005—to State Field Representatives on December 28. State Field Reps are, from left, Karen Kaspar, Hector Garcia, Zachary Kramer, Billy Rollwitz, and Lynn Johnsen. Home Office representatives will visit lodges in January and February promoting this year’s membership campaign, Challenge 2005.
District Incentive When the state meets its quota of 2,500 applications, the district meets its quota, and the district holds two membership rallies, the district will receive $1,000 cash. Lodge Incentives For each lodge that achieves its lodge quota and the state achieves 2,500 applications, the lodge will receive 1 1/2 times its lodge incentive amount. If a certificate lapses prior to 12 months, no credit will be given to the lodge or sales representative for incentive programs. For example, if a lodge had a quota of 25 new members, met the quota of 25 and we achieved 2,500 for the state, the local lodge would receive $1,000 x 1 1/2 = $1,500 (gold award). All lodges that exceed their quotas by 50 percent will double their lodge incentive amount. Again, please note that the state must meet the 2,500 application quota and the lodge must achieve its individual lodge quota before incentives can be received. Any lodge that meets its quota by June 1, 2005, will be recognized in the Vestnik with a photo of the sales representatives and lodge officers.
