SPJST Awards Banquet set for February 26 in Killeen This year’s SPJST Awards Banquet is Saturday, February 26 at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center , located at 3601 South WS Young Drive in Killeen, Texas. The new 64,000 square-foot conference center f e a tures several meeting rooms, a main hall, and a Special Events room. As home to a diverse population, Killeen is conveniently located in the heart of Texas. It is 60 miles north of Austin; 150 northeast of San Antonio, 163 miles southwest of Dallas/Fort Worth; and 190 miles northwest of Houston. Fort Hood, the largest military post in the free world, is the city’s centerpiece.
You’ll find lodging competitively priced and located close by. Killeen has more than 1,500 rooms. See the list of accomodations on page 7. Plans are still underway for the 2005 Awards Banquet. The banquet
will include a presentation on Challenge 2005— SPJST’s new membership campaign and what’s in it for you and your lodge. Awards will be presented to lodges, sales representatives, and youth clubs. Dinner will be served and will include a speaker. All lodges will receive complete information and registration packets in January.
Lodge 79, Corpus Christi Member Jerry Elzner Promotes Czech Heritage in Texas The SPJST proudly recognizes Jerry Elzner of Lodge 79, Corpus Christi.
