Proceeds raised for Children’s Miracle Network
Texas Classic Success—Cars and Cooks highlight SPJST and RVOS event The weekend of June 24 and 25 was filled with barbecue, classic cars, horseshoe pitchin’, and children’s activities in Bruceville-Eddy, Texas. SPJST and RVOS teamed up to host the first-ever Texas Classic. The event kicked off on Friday evening with coun-
try/western band Lost Wolf providing music for guests under the pavilion. On Saturday, 102 classic cars rolled into the Bruceville-Eddy ISD for an amazing display. The cookoff featured 48 teams competing for awards. Fourteen teams of horseshoe players braved the heat for a classic
tournament. The day also included a 40-foot rock wall that attendees climbed, a silent auction, prize drawings, food, and shopping. The band MuddCatts featuring Elvis was a big hit during the afternoon. Award presentations concluded the successful day.
Thanks to everyone who participated in the event and who helped at the event. Proceeds from the event benefitted Children’s Miracle Network. Complete results of the car show, barbecue cook-off, and horseshoe tournaments and event pictures appear on pages 11-15.
