District Seven State Field Representative Hector Garcia drives the ball at the 2005 SPJST Celebrity-Am Golf Scramble held at Mill Creek Golf Club in Salado on Saturday, August 13. The tournament, along with the SPJST Heritage Gala held Friday, August 12 at Lodge 47, Seaton Star Hall, raised more than $6,500 for the SPJST Library, Archives and Museum (LAM) and the SPJST Education and Nature Center (ENC). Orel, SPJST’s mascot, attends State Youth Achievement Day on August 6 in Temple. Posing with Orel are 2002-2003 SPJST State King Jake Holland and Jake’s four-year-old nephew, Austen Holland. Jake and Austen are members of Lodge 25, Ennis. More pictures on page 11.
Youth and adults work together to make this year’s Lodge 9, Snook Annual Family Fun Day a success. The event was held Sunday, July 3 at the SPJST Hall in Snook. Pictured above youth and adults serve barbecue plates with all the trimmings. A silent auction was also part of the event. More pictures on page 9.
SPJST’s 2004 State Fraternalist of the Year Bettie House of Lodge 202, Jourdanton rides through the Cowboy Homecoming Parade in Pleasanton on August 20. Sister Bettie was driven through the parade by her husband, Lloyd House. They rode behind the SPJST Float. More pictures on page 17.
