Five Generations of SPJST
SPJST proudly salutes the families that continue SPJST membership through generations. Congratulations to the Kubenas, Spaceks, Pflughaupts, Fritschs, and Wessels of Lodge 1, Fayetteville. Pictured, front, left to right, are Cassandra (Fritsch) Wessels; her twins, Jade Sierra and Jagger Scott Wessels; and Minnie Mae (Spacek) Kubena. Standing are Sharon (Pflughaupt) Fritsch and her mother, Patsy (Kubena) Pflughaupt. Minnie Mae celebrated her 98th birthday in July. Minnie Mae is the daughter-in-law of J.R. Kubena, who served as SPJST Supreme Lodge Secretary from 1897 to 1938. Kubena is known as the “Daddy of SPJST.”

Keep Those Applications Coming!
“We love written SPJST applications,” says Supreme Lodge Vice President Gene McBride, pictured above as he approves another application last week at the SPJST Home Office. Assisting him are Underwriter Doni Powell, left, and Applications Specialist Donica Zabcik. “Thanks to all of the sales representatives across the state, we are getting close to achieving the Challenge 2005 membership campaign—2,500 written applications this year,” Vice President McBride says. “We also appreciate everyone who is recruiting new members for SPJST. Thanks, and keep up the great work!” Through August 31, the Home Office has received 2,180 written applications.
Sausage and Sauerkraut at Westfest

Float Wins First in Rogers
The SPJST Float received the first place award in the Rogers Homecoming Parade on Saturday, September 10. Displaying the first place trophy are, from left to right, District Two Duke Colin Vanecek, King Kyle Vanecek, Queen Amber Pechal, and Duchess Brooke Hoelscher.
