In Memory of Ruby Schroeder

In honor of Ruby’s memory, the family encourages friends and loved ones to make a donation to St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Ruby Schroeder, age 93 of Thorn- —SPJST— dale, Texas, passed away on April 20, 2021, in Taylor, Texas.

Ruby was born on March 1, 1928, in Thorndale to Walter and Olga Patschke. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale where Reverend F. H. Stelzer baptized her on March 18, 1928, confirmed her on April 6, 1941, and Ruby Schroeder officiated at her marriage to Marvin Niemtschk on June 1, 1947. They had two children - Ronald Ray and Patricia Gayle. Ruby was widowed at the age of 50 and was blessed with a second marriage to Norris Schroeder on September 8, 1979.

Ruby was preceded in death by husband Marvin; son Ronnie; parents; two brothers; and two sisters.

She is survived by husband Norris; daughter Patricia and son-in-law John Meiller; grandchildren and their spouses Paul and Alison Meiller, Randall and Marti Niemtschk, Mark and Ashley Meiller, Crystal and Eric Pena; eight great-grandchildren; and brothers Howard and Walter Patschke and their spouses, Jan and Linda.

Ruby enjoyed being a homemaker, dancing with Norris, singing, playing 42, and giving and receiving hugs. At St. Paul Lutheran Church, she was a member of the LWML since 1953. LWML projects she worked on included making quilts for world relief, singing for rest home devotions, and putting together braille books for the blind. She also was a longtime member of the firemen’s and VFW Ladies’ Auxiliaries.

She was a member of SPJST Lodge 29, Taylor

Visitation was Sunday, April 25 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor.

Funeral service was Monday, April 26 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale. She was laid to rest at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.

In Memory of Tara M. Cloutman

Tara M. Cloutman (Andreason), age 50, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021.

Tara was born on November 30, 1970. Tara graduated from Dallas Academy where she received her diploma. She was a loving mother and homemaker, and worked for her Tara M. Cloutman family business, Rudolph’s Meat Market and Sausage Factory, for many years.

Tara was a lifelong member of SPJST Lodge 84, Dallas and served as youth leader for several years. As a youth, she was active in SPJST Lodge 84 Dallas, where she was queen and duchess and participated in all District and State Youth Achievement Day (YADs). She was also a member of the PTA at Lakewood Elementary, J.L. Long Middle School, and Woodrow Wilson High School.

She is survived by her children Cayla, Lauren, and Brady Cloutman; brothers Richard, Brandon, and Neal Andreason; sister Keri Jones; parents David Andreason and Justine Yeager; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Funeral service was held at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home for her immediate family members. A celebration of life will be held later this spring.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ludwig and Olga Polasek; and brother Joe Polasek.

Bobby graduated from Brazosport High School in May 1967. He then graduated from James Connally Technical Institute in December 1968 as an automotive specialist. He attended Wharton County Junior College. He worked as an auto mechanic at Albert Berry Motors Volkswagen in Katy. From there, he went on to employment with US Contractors in Clute. Bobby continued working in auto mechanics and became a welding machine specialist, eventually retiring from US Contractors.

He was a member of SPJST Lodge 81, Needville.

Bobby faced many physical challenges in his life. As a child he was a patient at Shriner’s Children’s Hospital for post-polio therapy. With a persistent drive and determination, he was successful in overcoming many hurdles on his life journey. With Martha by his side, he liked being outdoors hunting, camping, fishing, gardening, and living by the lake, riding in his red golf cart and mud racing his Volkswagens. He enjoyed attending Wurst Fest, going to dances, and participating in his favorite hobby of all - playing in domino tournaments. In Memory of Jesse Mendoza

Jesus (Jesse) Mendoza, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, went home to be with God on Friday, March 5, 2021, at the age of 63 at his residence in Temple, Texas.

Services for Jesus (Jesse) Mendoza were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 18 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple. Jesse Mendoza Burial followed at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple. Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 17 at the funeral home.

Jesse was born April 27, 1957, in El Paso, the son of Jesus Maria Mendoza and Gloria Elena Matamoros. Jesse attended Temple College and received an associates degree in computer science. He was employed by the Veterans Administration Hospital since December 10, 1979. He started working at the VA as an x-ray technician working in the darkroom and later transferred to the engineering department as a program clerk. He was very proud of his job.

He was a member of SPJST Lodge 246, Morgan’s Point and attended several lodge meetings, activities, and Christmas parties.
