Lodge 4 Hallettsville meets June 13 at Camp Kubena Dear Members, Lodge 4, Hallettsville met Sunday, March 28, 2021, at 3 p.m. at the Chamber Meeting Room with Vice President Annie Vahalik presiding. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited, and a moment of silence was held for the departed. Resolution Chairman Gayenell Chudej read resolutions of sympathy for departed members: Evelyn M. Sklar, Julius E. Belicek, August Kalmus, and Bobby Lee Holly. Secretary-Treasurer Helen Zabransky read the minutes to the last meeting and gave the financial report. Under correspondence, a new member was welcomed - Thomas Hargrove, grandson of Annie and Philip Vahalik. Fraternal Activities Coordinator Annie Vahalik and Cemetery Representative Philip Vahalik reported. It was announced there will be a District Six Annual Meeting this spring. A date has not yet been selected. The next meeting is planned for June 13. Meeting adjourned. It was voted to place flowers on graves at the SPJST Velehrad Cemetery. Door prize winners were Philip Vahalik, Jennifer Hessler, Vicky Zak, Helen Zabrasky, Annie Vahalik, Gayenell Chudej, and Patsy Zabransky. Each received a pretty flowering plant. Everyone enjoyed lunch and visiting.
Next Meeting—June 13 During lunch, we were notified that the District Six Annual Meeting will be Sunday, June 13 - our meeting date. It was then decided to hold a meeting at the District Six meeting at Camp Kubena. It begins with a noon meal. We hope to see you there! Fraternally, Patsy Zabransky, Reporter —SPJST—
Lodge 6, Cottonwood plans fried chicken dinner drive-thru July 18
son reported 11 members present. Sister Barbara Hykel read the minutes from the last meeting. Sister Peggy Dobecka gave the treasurer’s report and the youth report. Sister Jeanette Beseda gave the fraternal report. Sympathy cards were sent to the families of Ricky Mynar and Stanley Watts. Progressive door prize winner was absent. Birthdays for May were Lou Blahuta and Jeanette Beseda. Attendance door prize winners were Peggy Dobecka, Milton Peterson, and Lou Blahuta. Winners of flashlights were James Nemec, Patty Roslach, and Dorothy Kucera. Dates to Remember Please note the following dates: Sunday, June 6 —lodge meeting; Friday, June 11 social; Sunday, July 18—Fried chicken dinner drive-thru. Fried Chicken Dinner - July 18 Make plans for the third Sunday in July - on the 18th - for the Lodge 6 fried chicken dinner. This will be drivethrough serving only. Lodge 8, Weimar meets May 24 Lodge 8, Weimar, will meet Monday, May 24, 2021, at 6 p.m. at Oakridge Smokehouse Restaurant in Schulenburg, Texas. A memorial service for Lodge 8, Weimar members who passed away during 2019 and 2020 will be led by Anton Machacek. All members are invited and encourage to attend. Lodge 18, Elgin looks forward to activities again My husband Johnny and I finally got our vaccines. We attended the Lodge 18, Elgin meeting. We only had the usual four officers and two members. The trustees are trying to get the hall going once more. They will get the hall cleaned and sanitized for the Western Days weekend. F.L. is working to book a band to start polka dances. It’s sad to say that not much is going on due to Covid. I hope life will be normal soon. We miss seeing all of our friends. Irene Vrabel, Reporter —SPJST—
Lodge 24 plans August, October fundraisers Lodge 24, Cyclone met at Flag Hall on Monday night amid wheat fields turning golden and oceans of corn growing greasy green and reaching for the sky. The meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m. by President Daniel Wilde. He led the Pledge of Allegiance and had a silent prayer for our deceased members. Brenda Maddux read the minutes of the last two meetings. She gave the hall report and the bar report. Linda gave the fraternal report. District Two Annual Meeting will be at Lodge 48, Beyersville
