The Champion division is for any baker who has never won a Grand Champion title in any division. Entering this division is optional for Grand Champion winners. D. A kolache entry consists of 6 average size kolaches of the same filling and dough. These will be transferred by the committee to a plain, disposable plate. A baker may enter one entry in each of the 12 classes: apple, apricot, cheese, meat and cheese combination, other and cheese combination, peach, poppyseed, meat, and other. (Tea rings, strudels, or any other form of baked goods are not accepted. E. The kolache roll division is open to all bakers of all ages, both non-professional and professional. A kolache roll must be made with kolache dough (yeast) of any filling. A baker may enter one entry in each of three classes: cream cheese, poppyseed, and Other. An entry consists of 6 approximately 1-inch slices of the same filling and dough. F. All Bake Show entries must be made by one person. Team entries are not accepted. G. Registration will be from 7:45 a.m. to 10 a.m. on September 11. H. Judging will begin promptly at 10:30 am. I. All baked goods will be sold to cover the cost of the event. Extra donated baked goods will be accepted and appreciated to help defray the cost of the Bake Show. J. Grand champions, reserve champions, and first place winners for each of five kolache divisions will be recognized, and one grand champion, one reserve champion, and first place class winners for the kolache roll division will be recognized at the bake show awards ceremony at 3:30 p.m. at the Polka Pavilion (202 West Fox Street). K. Ribbons awarded for all entries will be given to participants immediately after the awards ceremony. L. Decisions of the Kolache Bake Show Committee are final. M. All grand champion winners of the 2019 Kolache Bake Show are not eligible to compete in 2021. They may compete in 2022. The grand champions of 2019 are invited to judge in the 2021 Kolache Bake Show. Colby Marek awarded Taylor Czech Chorus scholarship

Taylor Czech Chorus proudly announces Colby Marek as the recipient of its 2020-21 scholarship. Marek is a member of Granger High School’s Class of 2021. He was awarded the prestigious honor of being named salutatorian of his graduating class. His future plans are to attend Texas A&M University and study animal science. After graduation, he plans to pursue a career as a large animal veterinarian. He is the son of Chad and Nikki Marek of Granger, Texas. Congratulations to Colby and best wishes in his studies.
