In Memoriam In Memory of Glenn Jochec Glenn Ford Winston Jochec, age 86, of Stafford, Texas, was born on September 2, 1934, in Bellville to Franklin and Rosie Jochec, and went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, August 10, 2021. Glenn moved from Bellville to Stafford at a very young age and graduated from Glenn Jochec Missouri City High School. After receiving a basketball scholarship to Sam Houston State University, he graduated with a business degree in 1957. He met the love of his life Sedonia Engelhardt, and they married having 64-plus wonderful years together. Glenn honorably served our country in the United States Army and Army Reserves. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Sugar Land for 57-plus years and served as a deacon and elder and taught Sunday school for years. He retired from Champion (later Simpson) Paper Company after 38 years of devoted service. Glenn was a proud 75-plus member of SPJST Lodge 88, Houston. Glenn was a man of character, strength, and love. He never met a stranger and could make you feel like he knew you forever even if you had just met. He loved to tell a good story. He was a tremendous athlete and still holds basketball records at Sam Houston. He would say his claim to fame was receiving Honorable Mention All-American behind Wilt Chamberlain. His greatest joy in life was his love for his family and above all, his love for the Lord. He will truly be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his daughter Glenda Jochec Stewart; parents Franklin and Rosie Jochec; and brothers Al and Leonard Jochec. Glenn is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Sedonia Engelhardt Jochec; daughter Valerie Jochec Williams and husband Chris; son-in-law Mark Stewart and wife Sue; grandsons Weston and Colby Stewart and Anthony “A.J.” Williams; granddaughters Tiffany Wil-
liams Wagner and husband Matt, Kayla Stewart Cook and husband Cameron, Emalee Smith and husband Alan, Erin Stewart and husband Matt McLeese, and Ellee Best and husband Sam; greatgrandchildren Hazel and James Wagner, Elliott, Audrey, and Anna Cook, Sophie and Bennett Smith, Harper and Judin Best; and his only living brother Lloyd Jochec and wife Barbara; and multiple nieces and nephews. Viewing and visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 17 at DavisGreenlawn Funeral Home. Funeral services was at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 18 at First Presbyterian Church of Sugar Land. —SPJST—
Expression of Sympathy We, the members of SPJST Lodge 151, Wharton, wish to express our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the family of EMMA MLADENKA, of El Campo, Texas, who passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at the age of 89. She was born May 28, 1932, in Wharton to Louis and Frances Dirba Stavena. She married Adolph Mladenka on April 25, 1950, in El Campo. She was a longtime member of Saint Philip Catholic Emma Mladenka Church, Catholic Daughters of America, and SPJST Lodge 151, Wharton. She was very devout in her faith. Emma attended Cresent School and was a homemaker and bookkeeper for her husband’s welding business. She was a great cook, and her homemade kolaches and bread were family favorites. She enjoyed holiday family gatherings with all the family, especially watching the domino games and the grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing. She became an avid bingo player and enjoyed the friendships and socializing.
She was preceded in death by husband Adolph Mladenka; parents Louis Stavena and Frances Dirba Stavena; sisters Annie Orsak, Lucille Borak, and Mary Ann Stavena; and brothers Frank Stavena and Johnny Stavena. She is survived by daughters Diana Capps and husband Larry of Denton and Shirley McMahan and husband James of El Campo; son David Mladenka and wife Jean of Katy; grandchildren Rodney McMahan and wife Melanie, Lisa Tsakonas and husband Joshua, Sarah McMahan and Jason, and Matthew Mladenka; great-grandchildren Thomas and John McMahan and Morgan and Hannah Tsakonas; brothers Jerry Stavena and wife Delores of Wallis and Willie Stavena and wife Diane of El Campo; and sisters Agnes Kaska of Lissie and Julie Satsky of El Campo. Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 2 at Triska Funeral Home. A rosary was recited at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 3 at St. Philip Catholic Church with funeral mass following at 1:30 p.m. Burial followed at Holy Cross Memorial Park. In Memory of Margie Kovar Margie Ruth (Giesenschlag) Kovar 96, of Snook, Texas, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021, in Brenham. Funeral service was held Tuesday, August 31 at 11 a.m. at Snook Brethren Church with Brother Joseph Polasek officiating. Burial followed in Giesenschlag Cemetery near Snook. The family received guests at Margie Kovar the church from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Margie was born December 30, 1924, in Snook to parents Henry William Giesenschlag and Lillie Belle (Struck) Giesenschlag. She graduated

from Snook High School, then Blinn College Class of 1943. She also attended McKenzie Baldwin Business School, where she became proficient in typing and bookkeeping. She married the love of her life, Raymond Kovar, on December 28, 1945. This union was blessed with 65 wonderful years. Margie was a member of SPJST Lodge 9, Snook. She was a teacher at Clay and Providence Schools and worked at Texas A&M in the wildlife department from 1958 to 1965. When Raymond opened Snook Auto and Tractor Supply, Margie became the bookkeeper. She enjoyed collecting depression glass, cookbooks, and salt and pepper shakers. Fox News and TAMU Ladies Sports were her favorite things to watch. She also enjoyed playing boardgames with the grandkids. The grandkids fondly remember her crawfishing skills! Margie loved cooking fried chicken and delicious sweets for her family. In her spare time, she would quilt and crochet beautiful works of art. Margie and Raymond loved to travel. They would travel to various trade and craft shows where Raymond would demonstrate his blacksmithing skills. Margie was preceded in death by parents Henry and Lillie Giesenschlag; husband Raymond Kovar; sister Mildred Barry; and brother Wilton Giesenschlag. Margie is survived by her loving family - son Glenn Kovar and wife Debra of Brenham; son Mark Kovar and wife Kathy of Caldwell; grandchildren Brent Kovar and wife Stacy, Lance Kovar and wife Heidi, Rachel Allen and husband Chris, and Justin Kovar and wife Rebecca; great-grandchildren Joshua and Jacob Kovar, Matthew, Caleb, and Logan Allen, Landon, Rylan, Madalyn, and Noah Kovar, and Jaina and Kane Kovar; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Serving as pallbearers were Joshua Kovar, Matthew Allen, Caleb Allen, Logan Allen, Jacob Kovar, Landon Kovar, Rylan Kovar, and Noah Kovar. Honorary pallbearer was Kane Kovar.
