•
Design Your Own Bedding ON YOUR IPAD ® WITH PROCREATE ® 1. Create a new canvas 8"x8" at 300 DPI. 2. Draw your elements, being careful not to let them run off the edges. Keep everything within the borders of the canvas. TIP: Keep in mind for products like Duvet Covers, larger design elements work best. 3. Click the “+” sign on the layers panel to create a new layer. Select a dark color in your color palette, then tap the new layer in the layers panel with two fingers. Choose “Fill Layer” to flood the new layer completely with the selected color.

4. With the color-filled layer selected, choose “Opacity” in the tools panel and drag your finger from right to left (so it’s around 50%). 5. Group your layers. In the layers panel tap on your drawing layer and select “Combine Down” from the menu. The two layers will be combined into a group. With the group selected swipe to the left and choose “Duplicate” to create an identical second group. 6. With one group selected click the arrow button on the top toolbar to transform the entire panel. Make sure “Magnetic” is highlighted at the bottom and drag the group until it’s about halfway down the screen.
Step 7
7. Select the second group and drag it up, until the bottom edge meets the top edge of the first group. You might see a darker line where the two 50% layers are overlapping. To fix this keep the layer group selected and tap the screen above the drawing to nudge it up until the line disappears. Make sure there is no white showing. 8. Delete both 50% opacity layers and merge the two remaining layers of your drawing. Draw in the white space, but make sure any new drawings are still within the canvas. 9. Repeat steps 3-8 but drag your groups to the left and right at steps 6 and 7 (instead of up and down). When you’re done continue drawing to fill in the empty space. 10. And that’s it! When you’re happy with your repeat, save out an image as a JPEG or PNG to your device and upload to Spoonflower straight from your iPad. TIP: Designs uploaded to Spoonflower are converted to 150 DPI which can cause changes in scale. Use the smaller/bigger buttons or enter in a specific DPI by clicking on the “Change DPI” link on your design page to adjust. Once you get a scale you like, click “Save this Layout.”
