The Swope Park Rangers (2-0-0) face USL expansion club Las Vegas Lights FC (1-0-1) at Cashman Field in Las Vegas, Nevada, at 10:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, March 31. SPR won their home opener at Shawnee Mission South District Stadium against Seattle Sounders FC 2 on March 24. Kharlton Belmar notched two goals in the 4-2 victory. SPR signed eight Sporting KC Academy players to Academy contracts late last week, which brings the SPR roster to 23 men. Las Vegas drew with Reno 1868 FC, 1-1, in their home opener last weekend. The Rangers defeated Reno 4-3 at Reno in the first week of competition in the midst of a snowstorm. This will be the Rangers first time facing Las Vegas Lights FC.
