MATCH PREVIEW
The Swope Park Rangers (2-1-0, 6 points) return home to take on Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (1-2-0, 3 points) at Children’s Mercy Park on Wednesday, April 4 at 7:30 p.m. CT. SPR had a slight set back on Saturday, March 31 in Las Vegas when an own goal resulted in a 2-1 loss versus USL expansion team Las Vegas Lights FC. Captain Rodrigo Saravia netted an unassisted goal in the 18th minute, but miscommunication in the 71st minute resulted in an own goal and the loss. The Rangers have faced the Switchbacks three times since the 2016 inaugural season and are 2-0-1 in the series, including a pair of victories in 2017. Last season, Colorado Springs finished just outside the playoff race in ninth place. Colorado Springs is off to a slow start this season. The Switchbacks opened 2018 with a 2-0 win over LA Galaxy II but have since lost back-to-back matches, falling 1-0 to Portland Timbers 2 and 1-0 to Saint Louis FC.
