How did you two team up?

Jennifer Wilson: I started selling Hamptons real estate in 2007 and over the years built a strong referral-based business. In 2019, Treacy came on board and we created the Wilson Team. Thankfully, that was the year before COVID because I couldn’t have been as successful as we were over the past three years without the team in place. How do you describe each of your styles as agents?

Wilson: We work hard to educate our clients and give them the resources to make the best decisions. We have a no-pressure approach and a lot of patience. We’ll show our clients 100 houses if that’s what it takes for them to find the right one. Our reputation means a lot to us, and we’re known to be diligent and honest.

Treacy, tell us about your fashion background!

Treacy Cotter: I went to FIT and majored in buying and merchandising. I worked on Madison Avenue, running a large flagship store, and enjoyed the grind. My experience there has translated nicely into the real estate world. It’s imperative that homes are staged correctly in order to earn top dollar. My merchandising background has helped us get these homes prepared to sell quickly. Jen was the catalyst for me to start my real estate career, and the timing was more than right.

What’s a fun fact about both of you?

Cotter: We met in second grade and have been friends since. We raised our children together, and they’re all close friends.

Your No. 1 tip for Hamptonites interested in finding their dream home?

Wilson: Work with an experienced broker who knows the market and the inventory. Work with someone who is working for you and your best interest.

1 shot tequila blanco

₁⁄₄ cup Jarritos grapefruit soda

1 lime slice

Inventory is low, and there’s a strong buyer pool waiting on the sidelines. Well-priced homes in good condition are seeing the most immediate attention, and those properties are selling in fewer days on the market. It’s an efficient buyer-educated market. With home pricing dropping for the first time since 2019, why is now a good time to buy? We don’t see homes prices dropping across the board. Outlier subprime locations with older homes that need extensive renovations, or those homes viewed as “teardowns” will sometimes sit until the sellers adjust.

Tips for figuring out which town to purchase in?

Spend time in the logical two or three that most suit your lifestyle. Ask yourself these questions: Where are our friends? How much time will we spend on the East End in season and out of season? Our favorite restaurants? Ocean or Bay Beach? Access to boating? Golf club? Tennis club? Social club?

Top three favorite Hamptons restaurants?
