DREAMING OF THE HAMPTONS?

Saunders real estate broker Vincent Horcasitas shares why the Hamptons is the perfect destination for art collectors and aficionados to purchase a home.

Vince, why should buying a home in the Hamptons be on the radar of Basel attendees?

It’s a phenomenal asset. A Hamptons home is not just a beautiful place to live—it’s an incomeproducing property, and it’s a world-class investment. People who purchase art at Art Basel understand the value and importance of owning assets of this caliber.

How do you work with clients to purchase a home suited for their art collection?

I’m always amazed at what gorgeous art can do to impact the value of a home. Art is truly amazing, if you have the right eye for it. If you display it correctly, art can dramatically increase the value of a home.

Tell us about the robust art community Out East.

The Hamptons art community is tremendous. It’s a big part of life in the Hamptons. Every village has multiple art galleries, and every summer the Hamptons offers huge art events where galleries from all over the world present the work they represent to the public.

Any final thoughts?

In the Hamptons, homes themselves are pieces of art. So much thought, care, and attention are put into the construction of the properties here, just walking or driving through the different hamlets can feel like you’re walking through a painting. T
