At Work & Play
My passion in Photography is Extreme Sports. I was born and raised in Ireland where I had the chance to cover extreme sports. It all started back in 2003 when I took up mountain biking and taking pictures of my biking buddies. Since then my extreme sports passion has had me on a wonderful journey throughout Ireland and the UK. In Ireland i coverd the NPS ( National Points Series ) for a number of years, as well as other events, such as 4X, BMX and Skate, Surfing and rock climbing/hiking , all are top of my list. I have supplied a few magazines and websites, Freeflow, Outdoors mag, MTBrider.com and IrishDH dot com. I spent many a trip over to Scotland covering the Irish riders. In April 2006 I made the move to live on the mainland UK to further my career as an Extreme Sports Photographer. Whilst here, I have been sent to cover the NPS and indeed the SDA ( Scottish Downhill Association ) throughout the UK, though mainly Scotland , as this is were the wealth of Biking is in the Uk.
ESP Bill Fonesca I’m a Freelance Photographer based in Sydney, Australia and my photographs are mainly shot to capture all the action in the sporting world. ie: Skateboarding, Soccer, Baseball, Football, Cricket, Hockey, Supercross, Motor Racing to mention a few. I also photograph Weddings, Models, Anniversaries, Landmark icons and Studio work. So, I suppose I’ll photograph anything and anyone really. Poser
My Skateboarding photographs are published in a magazine called ‘Concrete Wave’ which is run out of Canada and distributes issues worldwide. I also shoot for ‘Neutraliser Magazine’ which is a free magazine with extreme sports images. I have ‘always’ had a facination for those who participate in extreme sports, with me trying to capture that fleeting moment in time. I shoot for pay and pleasure and count amongst my friends and contacts the very people who risk their lives doing what they have a passion for, and I’m around to record the event - from Sport Aerobatics to Maniac MotoCross - I believe my pictures tell the tale. BMX, Mountain Biking and even Road Biking, all in the extreme of course, are of a documentary style with the unusual point of view - radical crops, outlandish camera control and the dynamic angle. I love the sport. http://harryblack.wordpress.com http://egraphine.com

Symbology
My name is Ryan Lucas(aka Ryno), and i’ve been photographing various subjects for 10 years now. I love photography, it’s my passion, and it’s my way of escaping from the everyday grind. I attended the the University of Central Oklahoma, in Edmond, OK, studying specifically in Photojournalism. Having shot many different subjects in various settings; portraits, weddings, sports events, etc…I’ve narrowed my photography to extreme sport related events and settings as of late. Whether it be sportsbike freestyle(lot or highway), wakeboarding, skateboard(street or park), motocross(racing or moto-xfreestyle) etc. i’m looking for awesome photos of it. http://www.redbubble.com/people/rynophotography

Rider: Harry Heath
Shot somewhere in Staffordshire in the UK, Harry gets some huge air in a forest clearing. This is a slow shutter panned shot with 3 off camera flashes placed 2 to either side and one in front. It was raining as is the norm in the UK, so we will be back to this spot to get some more atmospheric shots

Rider Harry Heath
This is a location in the Peak District in the UK. Not much riding to do up on top of the pretty impressive outcrops of rocks, but the sunset is usually good (when it's not aining of course!) I just fancied a shot of a rider looking out at the sunset and contemplating all the rad moves he'll no doubt be doing the next day. Incidentally, I'd dropped my camera body before this shot and couldn't see through the viewfinder due to numerous pieces of plastic not being in their rightful place. It turned out not too bad in the end though. A few tweaks with the levels and curves in CS4 were used.

Rider: Christian Hatcher Description: National 4X Championships, Redhill, Glouscester, UK. An great sunshine day. The sun was behind the riders all day on this track. Normally I'd use a couple of low powered flashes to fill in the faces and pop the colours but due to the very light sand used here there was plenty of light bouncing back onto the riders, so a happy days lazy shooting was enjoyed! Not much post processing done to this image save for a little highlight tweak to see through a bit of the dust.

Rider: Aaron Neumann Description: Part of a bike test for a magazine which was never used you win some, you lose some). A slow speed pan and 2 off camera flashes used either end of the rider. CS4 used to tweak the levels and brightness.

ESP Rider: Jared Graves UCI Fort William World Cup 2009, Jared Graves leads one of the first motos of the night. The light was fantastic here, again, bouncing all around the rider because of the track surface, so it was a simple point and shoot job. What was more fantastic is the atmosphere of all the 1000's of fans tightly packed around the course. Fort William really is second to none for the atmosphere and a seemingly endless supply of Monster energy drink which keeps you going through the weekend (although I'm sure your kidneys don't appreciate it!).
