A Nature Bath is the traditional Japanese wellness practice called Shinrin-yoku which translates to “taking in the forest atmosphere”. Also known in Scandinavian culture as friluftsliv, or the act of getting outdoors in the open air.
Nature bathing is known to lower blood pressure, heart rates, and levels of harmful hormones – like cortisol, which your body produces when stressed.
Find a natural area; a park, green space, or forest. Take a few deeps breaths to get centered. Silence your phone to spend time in silence, and then take a leisurely paced walk, to be one with nature.
