Muir was director of Research and Development for Anglia and Oxford Regional Health Authority and set up the Centre for Evidence based Medicine in Oxford the National Library for Health and NHS Choices. Currently he is a Professor of Knowledge Management in the University of Oxford and the Director of Better Value Healthcare Muir was knighted in 2005 for services to the NHS. Dr Muir Gray has spent forty years promoting health and well-being in old age, and has published a number of books, his most recent being Sod70!, Sod60! With Claire Parker and Sod It Eat Well! They have been cut to fit a user who is in a wheelchair or is seated for long periods of time.
