CAST BIOS
ANN HEARN* (Ms. Innes) has been an actor and director in Los Angeles since 1979, after she graduated from the MFA Acting program at the University of Georgia. Her play credits range from the world premiere of The Debutante Ball (a Beth Henley play) and other new plays at South Coast Repertory, to re-envisioned classics at Los Angeles Theatre Center as well as many plays at small theatres through the LA area both as an actor and director. She had the wonderful good luck to be part of film and television working with Jane Fonda, Sally Field, and Jodie Foster. Her most recent theatre project was directing the dark and terrifying comedy Mercury by another Georgian, Steve Yockey. She is delighted to be working on The Minutes at The Springer with former student compatriots Ned Bridges and Paul Pierce here in Columbus!
BRIAN REDDY* (Mr. Carp) is an accomplished stage and screen actor known for his versatility and charisma. With a career spanning over three decades, he has captivated audiences with his memorable portrayals in numerous films, television shows, and theater productions including Casino and O, Brother Where Art Thou?, Seinfeld, House of Cards, and The X-Files. His Broadway credits include Finian’s Rainbow, Dinner at Eight, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof with Scarlett Johansson. Reddy has worked at many of the Country’s greatest theatres such as the Guthrie, Arena Stage, the Goodman, and the Kennedy Center. He has been directed by Martin Scorsese, the Coen Brothers, Mike Nichols, and John Houseman, among others.
NED BRIDGES (Mr. Assalone) was a SAG/Equity member in his younger days, with New York stage credits that include understudying and replacing Matthew Broderick in The Widow Claire at Circle in the Square and performing the title role in Burrhead at The Directors Company. In regional theatre he performed in Ibsen’s Ghosts (Oswald), Cuckoo’s Nest (Billy Bibbitt), Guys and Dolls (Nicely), and The Tempest (Caliban). His film and television credits include co-starring with Lee Remick in Rearview Mirror and playing a featured role in Kenny Rogers’ Coward of the County These days, Ned performs with the band Shades of Gray and lives in Atlanta with his beautiful wife Lisa. Their son Julian, a musician and filmmaker, and daughter Bernadette, a writer and filmmaker, live in Los Angeles. Ned’s previous Springer appearances date back to Mother of Rain and Spamalot (King Arthur). He was most recently seen in the December 2023 farewell performance of A Tuna Christmas with Paul Pierce. He is delighted to be back at the Springer once again.
TIM ABOU-NASR* (Mr. Peel) is delighted to return to the Springer Opera House after appearing onstage in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor
Dreamcoat, California Dreaming, and most recently, Escape to Margaritaville. Originally from Omaha NE, he has worked regionally in a number of productions, including Little Women and A Christmas Carol with Nebraska Theatre Caravan. He appeared Off-Broadway in That Bachelorette Show, and recently in an episode of Law and Order SVU. He trained at The Barrow Group Theater School in NYC where he met his amazing wife Paige. He and his wife live in NYC with their beloved dog, Beau.
DAVID MILLSTONE* (Mayor Superba) is thrilled to return to the Springer for his second production. David holds an MFA from the University of Houston and has performed with The Alliance for New Music Theater, The American Shakespeare Center, Wayside Theater, The Arden Theatre Co., The Walnut Street Theater, and others. Favorite roles include FROST/NIXON (Nixon, Springer Opera House) and Havel’s PROTEST (Stanek, The Alliance for New Music Theater). He stars in the upcoming film, Another Life. RICHARD DANIEL (Oldfield) happily returns to Springer, having appeared previously in The Cake (Tim) and Sweeney Todd (Judge Turpin). Some of his other credits include: Once (Da, APEX National Tour), 1776 (Franklin, Cortland Repertory Theatre), A Wonderful Life (Potter, Chaffin’s Barn), Fiddler on the Roof (Lazar Wolf, Studio TENN), The Little Mermaid (Grimsby, Nashville Children’s Theatre), and Smoke on the Mountain (Burl or Stanley in many productions in many places!). He is a twotime graduate of Austin Peay State University and lives in Nashville.
MARCUS DENARD JOHNSON* (Mr. Blake) is excited to celebrate his second performance at the Springer. CHRISTIAN BECERRA (Mr. Breeding) is excited to return to the Springer for his 14th production! He is currently a local working actor and retired US Army Veteran. You may have previously seen him in Cabaret (The Emcee), Little Shop of Horrors (The Dentist), White Christmas (Bob Wallace), and Wizard of Oz (Tinman). Other favorite credits include: First Date (Aaron), Next to Normal (Henry/ Dan), and Look Forward: The Ruby Bridges Story (Dr. Coles)!
ISABELLA MINTER (Ms. Johnson) is thrilled to be working on The Minutes. She is an actor from Atlanta, received a BFA in Theater Performance from Columbus State University and has studied in New York at the Stella Adler Acting Conservatory. Professional performances include roles in: The Cake (Jen, Springer Opera House), The Credeaux Canvas (Amelia, Yard Dogs @ RMS), Oh, To Be Pure Again (U/S Jean Ruby, Actor’s Express), Circle, Mirror, Transformation (Lauren, StageDoor Theater). She has also taught at the Springer Theater Academy and will be teaching at the Alliance this summer. She thanks her family, Griffin and her mentors, Peter and Larry. She dedicates this show to her grandmother, Charlotte, who always knew what was right, even when it was hard. Enjoy the show!
TATE LECLAIR (Mr. Hanratty) is pumped to be back on stage at the Springer for his twelfth production. Tate serves as the Springer’s Director of Development and oversees all fundraising initiatives at the theatre. When he isn’t writing grants, he enjoys being on stage or in rehearsals. Recent credits include: The Play That Goes Wrong (Charles Haversham, Jonathan), Shrek the Musical (Director), Evil Dead (Jake), and Sister Act (Joey, Assistant Director). He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance from Columbus State University where he was on the Dean’s List. COURTLYN HOLT (Ms. Matz) is happy to join the stage for her 18th show at the Springer! You may have recently seen Courtlyn in the Springer’s productions of The Little Mermaid (Ensemble/u.s. Ariel), Murder on the Orient Express (Greta Olsson), Cabaret (Fritzie/u.s. Sally) and Elvis (Dixie/Ann-Margret). PRODUCTION BIOS
PAUL R. PIERCE (Director) has directed and produced more than 300 comedies, dramas and musicals in his past 35 years at the Springer. A Rome, Ga native with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Georgia, he is an Equity actor who has performed in over 1,000 American and Canadian cities with stock, regional, touring and children’s theatre companies. He is the former associate director at Repertory Theatre of America, the former managing director of Virginia’s Wayside Theatre and the former producing artistic director at the Harbor Playhouse in Corpus Christi, Texas. Paul is the author of nine plays and The Springer Ghost Book.
KATIE UNDERWOOD (Assistant Director, Lighting Designer) is a senior member of the Springer artistic staff responsible for casting and contracting production personnel for all mainstage and studio productions. She is also one of several directors on our staff with past credits including The Wizard of Oz and The Great Gatsby. Katie serves as the primary lighting designer for productions taking place in our McClure Theatre with favorite designs including Ace: The Eugene Bullard Story, The Jungle Book, and Mother of Rain. She is a Springer Theatre Academy alumni, a graduate of CSU with a BFA in Theatre Design and Technology, and earned an MBA from Kennesaw State University.
JESS ADAMS (Production Stage Manager) earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Columbus State University in 2016. They are the former Production Manager / Production Stage Manager of Majestic Repertory Theatre, an immersive theatre in Las Vegas. Jess leads the Springer’s stage management team and serves as the primary stage manager for the Mainstage Series. Previous credits include The Bodyguard, Mother of Rain, ACE: The Eugene Bullard Story, Million Dollar Quartet, Kudzu: The Musical, Jackie & Me, Last of the Red Hot Lovers (Springer Opera House); The Manson Family: an opera, Sweeney Todd (Majestic Repertory Theatre). jessadamssm.com
MATTHEW SWINDELL (Scenic Designer) is the Springer’s Director of Production. He graduated from Columbus State University with a BFA in Theatre Design and Technology. He has worked on many Springer productions over the past ten years in a variety of different roles including Director, Scenic Designer, Lighting Designer, Technical Director, and Road Manager for the Springer’s touring company, Springer Theatricals. You may also remember Matthew from his time on stage as Teddy Roosevelt in the Springer’s 2017 production of Newsies.
PATTI JO FENZEL (Props Designer) (Props Designer) earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater Design and Technology from CSU in 2010 and has worked in theaters around the
country including Florida Repertory Theater, Texas Shakespeare Festival and Opera New Jersey.
DONA PIERCE (Costume Designer) is a veteran designer for numerous theatre companies, national tours, films and tv shows over the past 40 years. Dona’s work is well-known to Springer audiences. Before retiring, she was the longtime resident costume designer for the State Theatre of Georgia and later resident properties designer here and worked on nearly 300 shows. She was persuaded to come out of retirement for this production and is thrilled to be back in action with this phenomenal team of artists and technicians.
WALTER PIGFORD (Technical Director) is from Georgia, graduating from Georgia Southern University Armstrong Campus (previously known as Armstrong State University) with a BA in Theater. After graduating he lived in NYC for four years working on the Off-Broadway circuit and as a full-time Assistant Technical Director at Pace University. He has worked at various regional theaters around the country but is glad to be back in his home state bringing theater to the Columbus community.
ALEX ALLISON (Costume Shop Manager/ Resident Costume Designer) has worked as a costume and wig designer across the US with notable companies such as the York Theatre, Berkshire Theatre Festival (BTF), Norwegian Creative Studios and others. He is currently the Resident Costume Designer at the Springer. Theatre Credits include: Hoagy Carmichael’s Stardust Road (World Premiere)(York Theatre NYC), Shrek the Musical, White Christmas, The Bodyguard, Little Shop of Horrors (Springer), Grease (Temple Theatre) Jersey Boys, Swing the Musical and Warren Carlyle’s Havana! At Norwegian Creative Studios (Wardrobe Supervisor).
CALEB HUNEYCUTT (Sound Designer/Engineer) is a graduate of Columbus State University he earned a BFA in Theatre Design and Technology with a concentration in Sound Engineering. He was a volunteer at the Springer in 2020 and now is the resident sound designer and engineer. He has previously worked at CSU as the Technical Engineer during the 2023 GRT summer stock.
ANNA BROOKS (Stage Manager) is excited to be back for her seventh show at the Springer! Her stage management credits at the Springer include Beauty and the Beast, Of Mice and Men, Grease, and world premier of Ace: The Eugene Bullard Story. She was also stage manager for last season’s The Cake. Anna holds a BFA in Theater Design and Technology from Columbus State University, and is thrilled to be working back in her hometown!

Chair
Danielle Patterson Varner (CEO/Executive Producer) has served the Springer for more than twenty years - first in sales, then development, and finally as managing director. For the past six years, she has managed day-to-day operations, budget tracking, board relations and historic preservation. Varner is a member of the Rotary Club of Columbus, the chair of the Columbus Cultural Arts Alliance and was named one of “Georgia’s Most Influential Leaders” in 2022 and 2023 by Georgia Trend Magazine.
Keith Patrick McCoy (Artistic Director) is wellknown among local audiences, actors, designers, technicians and Springer Theatre Academy parents. Over the past thirteen years, he has served the Springer as guest director, actor, choreographer and instructor. In 2023, he was recognized with the Lift Him Up award for outstanding community service and excellence by the Courier Eco Latino, an independent Columbus newspaper. He works to expand outreach efforts, attract new audiences and leads the process of choosing the productions for each season.
