São Paulo Fashion Week, the Book Biennial, Campus Party and the Virada Cultural weekend are some of the highlights of the São Paulo program. This is the world’s second biggest event in architecture and interior design, second only to the Milan Furniture Fair. Founded in São Paulo, the show now has 24 franchises, of which 19 are local and four are international. In 2014, it will reach its 28th edition.

This fair is considered the largest franchise fair in Latin America, with 470 exhibitors and co-exhibitors from different market segments. It also offers lectures and courses to the Public interested in opening a franchise. In 2014, the ABF Franchising Expo will reach its 23rd edition.

2014 World Cup www.copa2014.gov.br São Paulo was chosen to host the opening ceremony of the 2014 World Cup and the opening match at the Corinthians Stadium. It will be the first participation of the Brazilian team in the competition.

FAN FEST

In addition to being chosen to stage the opening match of the 2014 World Cup, São Paulo was also the city chosen to host Fifa’s 64th Congress, which will be held before the opening game on June 10 and 11 and will bring together representatives of 209 federations in the world’s football community.

Fifa’s official party, the Fan Fest, will be held in all 12 host cities, during the transmission of the 64 2014 World Cup matches. The images will be viewed on big screens in areas with a minimum capacity for 20,000 people. In São Paulo, the party will take place in Vale do Anhangabaú.

Book Biennial www.bienaldolivrosp.com.br The third largest event of its kind in the world behind the Frankfurt Book Fair and the International Book Fair of Turim. It offers books and a cultural agenda. In 2015, it will reach its 24th edition.

Since 1997, the city has hosted the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual and Transgender) Pride Parade, considered to be the largest event of its kind in the world. The parade usually brings thousands of visitors to the city. Held on Paulista Avenue, its 18th edition will take place in 2014.

This event is sponsored by the Tourism Ministry. It offers tourist packages, arts and crafts. The fair will complete its 9th edition in 2014.

This is the biggest fair of the auto industry in Latin America. The event, which will be in its 28th edition in 2014 and will feature over 100 exhibitors, will showcase the latest models and concept cars.

This important event provides a twoweek overview of world cinema through 400 films from many countries of the world. The movies are shown in 22 cinemas in the state capital. The 38th edition will be held in 2014.

This is a major Brazilian event for the railway sector and is one of the five largest in the world for products ​​ and services aimed at urban transport, freight and logistics, in addition to safety and tracking equipment. It includes on average 365 exhibitors from 15 countries. The 21st edition will take place in 2014.

The most famous street race in the country. This 15-kilometer race is held on the last day of the year and leaves from MASP, go through the old city center and end again at the avenue. In 2014, it will have reached its 90th edition.

The New Year is celebrated with a large party held at Paulista Avenue, one of São Paulo city’s most popular tourist spots. Concerts are performed during the night and early morning, the countdown for the new year is held at midnight with a firework display. The 17th edition of the event will be held from 2013 to 2014.
