Our third week in Egypt featured a return to Luxor and to additional pyramids on Cairo’s Giza plateau. While in Luxor, we visited more of the Theban Necropolis on the west side of the Nile, viewed ancient sites from above on a hot-air balloon ride, and took a day trip to the cult centers of Abydos and Dendera, sacred to the gods Osiris and Hathor.
