Sri Lanka Foundation is a Non-profit organization that is committed to promote Sri Lankan culture across the United States. In 2003, the foundation was initiated by a reputed Sri LankanAmerican physician named as Walter Jayasinghe in Los Angeles. He is a famous physician in US and living there for many years yet he is dedicated to his motherland Sri Lanka. He wants his culture to be popular all over the world.

Sri Lanka Foundation in LA SLF in LA is such and Non-profit organization with Worldwide community. People associated with this community are related to with Sri Lanka in any way. Every year a number of events and awards shows are organized by SLF. This foundation works with a vision ‘Inspire and achieve’ where achievers from different industries are honored and given awards. Till now, SLF has recognized a number of engineers, artists, doctors, businessmen, scientists, lawyers, and many more.

Lions or The Lion Nation Most Sri Lankan people called themselves as ‘Lions or The Lion Nation’ name. As we all know that there is a lion symbol on the country’s flag and it may be the reason people from this country like to be called as a Lion. Since the lion is known as a courageous and proud animal, Sri Lankan people love to be known as the same. Slf is devoted to the conservation of Sri Lankan ethos. It strives to show bravery and pride in their generous work and events.

Upcoming Event

SL Day is one of the most popular events organized by Sri Lanka Foundation. This event is a yearly celebration and acknowledgement to the culture and legacy of the Sri Lankan people. The foundation works meticulously to bring the colors, tastes, sights and feel of the nation. Spectators across the California gather at one place and enjoy their ethnic event. They get a chance to travel to Sri Lanka through music, art, dance, traditional foods and theatre. Both kids and adults join the Kandy Perahera, a renowned parade in Sri Lanka that features theatre elephants of same size of actual elephants.

Benefits for businesses from SL

The most important aspect that is taken care by SLF is providing benefits to businesses in Sri Lanka. Every year, SL foundation’s event SLDay gives opportunity to vendors join the event and offer their products. These vendors can join the event but they must be from Sri Lanka and selling foods and products from their country.
