RUN AWAY WITH THE CIRCUS FOR THE SUMMER
Circus artistry meets summer fun in this unique summer camp! Campers ages 6* – 15 will learn circus arts disciplines, including triple and single trapeze, globes, silks, hula hoop, rolla bola, clowning, trampoline, juggling, and more! Circus Summer Camp includes games, crafts, and activities, but campers do more than make friends and have fun. Circus Campers increase coordination through acrobatics, develop their balance on the low wire, and find courage on the flying trapeze, all while having the time of their lives! At the beginning of the sessions, campers spend a day trying circus acts. For the rest of the session, they work on one skill set for a part of each day, all while continuing to explore other aspects of circus. At the end of the session, campers display their new skills in a spectacular costumed show for families with a different theme each session. Circus campers create memories that will last a lifetime. *Campers must be at least six and have completed kindergarten. No prior experience or assessment is required. SARASOTA ORCHESTRA’S SUMMER MUSIC CAMP
July 7-18, 2025. Open to students of all abilities for education in string instrument, woodwind, brass, and percussion performance. Two weeks of fun and musical learning experiences at the Beatrice Friedman Symphony Center include rehearsals in a large ensemble, instrument technique, and elective classes such as music theory, rhythm, ear training, audition preparation, sight-reading, and so much more. Campers show off their skills on the final day at an end-of-camp concert. Camp faculty are local school music educators and Sarasota Orchestra musicians, all highly respected in their areas of expertise. Sarasota Orchestra’s Summer Music Camp welcomes true beginners and does not require auditions for participation. RINGLING PRECOLLEGE PROGRAM
Grades 10-12 During the four-week intensive, students follow a robust curriculum of core classes for fundamental skill building, as well as two selected immersions for a deeper investigation of areas reflective of the College’s degree programs. Students receive hands-on instruction from world-class faculty as well as studio time, so they can develop as an artist and strengthen their portfolio for college admissions and scholarships. A co-curricular series of mini-workshops further broadens their introduction to a variety of creative practices and techniques. ADVENTURE CAMP Grades: 6-8 Your older child will enjoy more challenging activities and field trips while maintaining a safe environment. Adventure campers participate in multiple field trips every week and enjoy on-site activities including sports, games, arts and crafts, and more! Adventure campers are transported to field trip sites in Sarasota County school buses. Parents must check in their children at the campsite between 7:30 and 9 a.m. Most activities are planned between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., but some field trips require an earlier arrival or later pickup. Children arriving late must be transported to the field trip location by their parent or guardian. GRAM Grades: 9-11 Students entering 9th through 11th grade are invited to apply for the Counselor-in-Training (C.I.T.) Program and enjoy sessions that will prepare them to become a successful camp counselor. A limited number of C.I.T. opportunities are available. An online registration form indicating camp location must be completed prior to April 26. Candidates will be interviewed in the order the registration form is received until maximum enrollment is reached. C.I.T.s will have the opportunity to earn volunteer hours as they assist counselors on-site and on field trips. Training sessions include team building, group games, safety, first aid and more. If selected, candidates must provide a letter of recommendation from an adult other than a family member. The program fee is due once the candidate is selected. Participants should contact their high school prior to summer to verify eligibility for volunteer hours. Every day, children will make a different craft, take part in cat trivia, stretch to animal-themed yoga, and learn a different lesson about cats or complete a science activity related to cats. CAPO KIDS Ages Kindergarten-11 years old You must know that we are primarily, a martial arts academy. Your child will train Capoeira, a Brazilian martial art and grappling with certified teacher and instructors. We are proud of being a active camp where the capokids are moving all the time with exercises, stretching and learn music and Brazilian instruments.Capokids invite children from potty trained to 11 years old to attend our summer camp. They are divided into 2 groups. 3 year old children until preschool children stay in one group and they are not allowed to go on the field trips. They stay in the academy having quiet time and arts and crafts since, by law, they are not allowed to be transported by our vans. THUNDER SPORTS CAMP Rising
Grades 1-6
ODA’s goal is to provide your child with a well-rounded experience in the world of sports. They focus on developing not only athletic skills, but what it means to be a team player, what it takes to be a leader, and the importance of integrity in sports. Team-building and good sportsmanship take center stage. This camp runs for five weeks. Athletes will participate in a variety of sports and games that may include basketball, volleyball, soccer, wiffleball, bombardment, team handball, kickball, capture the flag, trackball, ultimate ball, floor hockey, and more! Games will be modified to accommodate athletes’ skill levels and age groups. On Fridays, there will be fun water activities and Kona Ice! All activities are subject to change. Spend a week with professional lifeguards learning the fundamentals of lifeguarding. This program offers hands-on learning experiences and character-building* activities while having fun. Lifeguards with the Sarasota County Lifeguard Division train participants in water safety, rescue techniques, rescue paddling, competitive lifeguard events, how to identify and treat marine life, CPR and first aid. The fee includes a rash guard and a T-shirt. Swimsuits and goggles are required. To participate, all potential campers must attend a 30-minute tryout session at Arlington Park pool and demonstrate the ability to swim 100 yards freestyle in 2:05 or less, tread water for five minutes and retrieve an object from the bottom of the pool. *** A strong swimming background is essential, swim team experience is preferred. *** Returning campers are exempt from tryouts. Under the direction of Sarasota Opera’s professional artistic and production staff, campers experience the magic on the stage and behind the scenes as they study the many facets of opera, from music and acting to opera appreciation and production. Designed for all skill levels, our annual camp engages young people in the magic of opera.
