GHG Emissions: It is estimated that under the STS:28C scenario, CO2 emissions from electricity generation may go up to 1900 Million ton by 2037 compared to 1000 million ton in 2017. CO2 emissions exclusively for cooling is estimated to be around 662 MtCO2 by 2037. Therefore, around 5% emissions reduction is envisaged under this scenario which can contribute towards NDC achievement a bit. Expected emissions reduction contribution is around 100 Million ton of CO2 in 2037. Figure 32 below shows the comparison of GHG emissions between Baseline and STS:28C scenario.
