For our inspiration, we traveled north from East Africa to Morocco to explore a land where ancient and modern collide to create a sense of wonder, delight and curiosity. MI NT Mint is a modern yet nostalgic color, sitting at the intersection of green and blue, reminiscent of the ocean waves that beat up against the stone walls of Casablanca. We chose to name this sea-inspired hue Mint as an ode to perhaps one of the greatest symbols of Moroccan hospitality, mint tea! From regal palaces to caves in the Atlas Mountains, the national symbol of hospitality and welcome remains the same. It’s a reminder to us that hospitality isn’t about extravagant homes or lives that are tidy and perfect. It’s about the power that comes from giving the gift of presence: There’s nowhere else I’d rather be than right here, right now. We can be women who dream big dreams about the future and also seek to be present in the here and now.

CORAL Coral is a fusion of both red and yellow. With infinite varieties (in Marrakech, the “Red City”, this color is called “Marrakech Red” and ranges from deep brick hues to dusty salmon pinks), we chose to name this color Coral to pay homage to perhaps one of the greatest seeming contradictions between strength and vulnerability. Living coral comprises the world’s largest and most diverse living organism. Yet, the only reason it grows is because each individual organism allows itself to attach to another piece of the whole. For thousands of years, coral has been used and worn as a reminder that true strength comes not from ego or protection but through unification. Soft and strong.

QUAI L This curious color, a blend of lavender and grey hues, is aptly named Quail. Across many cultures and traditions, the quail is a symbol of courage and victory in battle. Yet, it was also historically a common gift between lovers and a term of endearment, symbolizing that we as women can be both warriors and lovers. We fight for justice and stand up for ourselves and for those who cannot and we are tender women who allow ourselves to feel deeply and be affected by the world around us.
