Dear Parents & Friends of Valley Catholic School, Thank you for joining us tonight for this year’s virtual Gala to support Valley Catholic School. The Gala is traditionally an event that brings all of us together and, especially this year, being together as a community is something we are all longing for. Even though we are gathering virtually, we join as an extended community in recognizing the need to lend support to the future of our students and the outstanding programs provided for them. This evening would not be possible without your commitment to Valley Catholic School, as well as the many, many individuals who have devoted countless hours in preparing for this event. I would like to extend a personal thank you to all who have worked so hard behind the scenes, particularly the SSMO Foundation staff and co-chairs Todd and Loni Adams, Stefanie Hanson Jacquemin’90 and Cecilia Nguyen. I am deeply grateful for their dedication to our school and their willingness to share their talents, and their ongoing support of all things Valley Catholic. Thank you! On behalf of our principals, our faculty and staff, and the entire Valley Catholic School family, a heartfelt “thank you” for being here with us this evening. I encourage you to raise your wine glass – and click the “donate now” button – to toast Valley Catholic. God bless, John Matcovich, President, Valley Catholic School Doug Ierardi, Principal, High School Jennifer Gfroerer ‘87, Principal, Middle School Melissa Doxtator ‘02, Principal, Elementary School Veronica Beck, Principal, Early Learning School Beckie Hocker, Director, Valley Catholic Music School (not pictured) 3

YOUR HOSTS FOR THE EVENING Amy Troy Amy Troy made her childhood “dream career” come true and was a TV News Anchor/Reporter for 26 years. She’s now “living the dream” as a full-time mom of two girls, CYO Coach and Volunteer. She is also an avid golfer, who would play every day if she could. Amy is a native Oregonian who grew up on a farm in the southern part of the state. She’s also a “Duck” who studied Journalism at the University of Oregon. Amy began her career in television news here in Oregon before taking jobs in other western states. She returned to anchor positions at KGW and KPTVFox 12 several years ago, to be closer to her family. Amy has received numerous awards in her career, including a prestigious Regional Edward R. Murrow Award and several Emmy nominations for news and cultural issues reporting. In true Oregonian fashion, Amy loves the outdoors. Not only is she a lifelong equestrian, Amy also enjoys skiing, hiking, and running.

Dylan Campy Dylan and his wife, Claudine, are parents of VCHS students, Roman and Amelia. Their family has been proud to be a part of the VCS community for thirteen years. When Dylan isn’t spending time with his family, he can be found on or near the greens at The Oregon Golf Club where he is the Regional Membership Director. Dylan grew up in Eugene, OR. He attended Portland State University and has had the pleasure of working in the golf industry for 30 years. In fact, Dylan and Amy were introduced to one another at the campus-wide “Whole in One” golf tournament several years ago. Now, they’ve teamed up for the second time as hosts for the Gala.

GALA CO-CHAIRS Todd and Loni Adams along with their son Alex (8th), have been Gala volunteers for many years. This year they are taking on even bigger roles as Co-Chairs. “We appreciate how faith, service and excellence are at the core of everything Valley Catholic does, and know that the Gala is an essential part of building the Valley Catholic community. Funds raised at the event allow us to support students that may not otherwise have had the opportunity to attend, as well as fund important programs for the benefit of all. Our lives have been blessed by this community and we hope that you’ll come along with us and offer your support to the Gala.” Stefanie Hanson Jacquemin ’90 is an alumna as well as a parent of a 6th grader, Tyler. “I am delighted our children are surrounded each day by loving teachers who take a keen interest in their learning and development. VC is a truly unique school and will always have a special place in the heart of our family. I look forward to seeing you (virtually) at this year’s Gala!” Cecilia Nguyen and Man Tran and their daughters Daphne (9th) and Morgan (7th) have been devoted members of the Valley Catholic community for more than ten years. Here is what they would like you to know: “The Tran family is grateful to the Sisters, teachers and staff, and the VCS community for your love and support. Please join us in continuing the VCS traditions and creating precious memories for you and your family through your support of the VCS Gala.” 9

43. IT’S RUM O’CLOCK!

44. RED, RED WINE

These two bottles of rum have been hand-carried back from travels to Venezuela and Columbia. The Diplomatico Reserva is an exquisite sipping rum that is made almost entirely from sugar cane honey. The end result is a truly exceptional rum showing characteristic fruity and sweet flavors. The Medellin Gran Reserva has a fresh and invigorating aroma. Its slightly sweet notes of vanilla fill the palate, and both sugar and vanilla harmonize beautifully to create a very well-balanced rum with spicy notes that finish softly. Remember, it’s 5:00 o’clock somewhere!

Build your wine cellar! Enjoy three bottles of Leviathan Red Blend 2018. This wine regularly scores 93-94 by wine critics, so you won’t be disappointed. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Franc reveals the best that these varietals have to offer. This is an intense mix of fresh berry, cherry and plum, and is balanced with earth elements and tannins, leading to a long, savory finish. It’s ready to be enjoyed now and yet built to cellar.
