CONCEPT ONE

NO SHORTCUTS DEVELOPMENT AND TESTING

There’s a reason so many reels look alike. Most are sourced from the same factories using the same designs. That’s the lowestcost way to develop reels, but at SEVIIN, we believe starting with a clean sheet is the only way to create a truly unique angler experience. As hard-core anglers ourselves, we strive to create a reel we’d love to have in our boats.

We generate countless sketches before honing in on a more refined design. The ultimate goal is to design a reel that not only looks great in your hand, but delivers the performance and durability you demand.

Proprietary designs are used in every SEVIIN reel. Drag systems, gear trains, structural frames, and critical components, like ball bearings, are built to our exact specifications. If it doesn’t meet our performance and quality standards, our name doesn’t go on it.

While many other brands only do a cursory “on-the-water” trial, we rigorously test each design in our exclusive SEVIIN reel test lab. Each prototype undergoes a battery of tests ranging from gear strength, gear endurance, salt spray, and more to verify that each SEVIIN reel design will perform as expected before production begins.

And to augment our lab testing protocols, hundreds of reels are sent to our pro-staff for extensive testing in real-world conditions with a variety of fishing techniques, lures, and targeted species.

PRECISION-MACHINED

GF reels are built for harsh conditions with CNC-machined, hard-brass gearing supported by precision stainless steel ball bearings. A stainless steel spool shaft supports the forged aluminum spool, enabling the use of braided line in the heaviest cover.

CARBON-FIBER DRAG

The friction washers in the GF drag are made from woven carbon fiber, which is virtually impervious to wear. The carbon washers are mated to stainless steel washers providing drag lockdown up to 19 lbs while remaining silky-smooth.

CARBON-FIBER

The ultra-light, one-piece, carbon-fiber handle provides extreme strength under even the heaviest cranking conditions. Its sleek, swept design puts the handle knobs closer to the reel’s center line, resulting in less side torque under load.

LINE MEMO

With the unique line memo dial you’ll never have to guess what size line to run. Just pick your line, set the dial, and always keep tabs on line sizes as you rig your rod/reel setups for different techniques.

A molded polymer body infused with carbon fiber greatly increases strength and stiffness. This provides an extremely lightweight body, side cover, and rotor system that’s super rigid and won’t flex under heavy loads. The entire drive train is perfectly aligned to maintain smoothness and sensitivity over time.

SLOW OSCILLATION SYSTEM

The S-Curve design features a super-slow oscillation that insures line is stacked evenly on the spool resulting in longer casts and fewer line management issues even when using lighter finesse size lines. An internal support guide insures spool oscillation remains consistent even under heavier drag loads.

One-piece forged aluminum spool is machined and hard anodized. The forged design minimizes weight while maintaining strength. A braid band allows the use of braid tied directly to the spool without the need for backing. A unique spool lip design maximizes casting distance by minimizing line contact during the cast.

ALUMINUM CONSTRUCTION

The body and side cover of the GSW Series are precision die-cast from a special corrosion-resistant aluminum, then anodized and painted with a multi-step process to further protect it from saltwater damage. The rotor on the larger 6000 and 8000 sizes are also aluminum die-cast to prevent any flex under higher drag settings with heavier lines.

IPX5 WATER-RESISTANT DESIGN

Seals located at critical points on the body and spool insure that both gearbox and drag system stay saltwater free. With IPX5 sealing, critical components remain protected from boat spray or wash downs at the dock, insuring your reel is always in top shape and battle-ready. Its sealed drag system keeps saltwater out so your drag is at peak performance when it matters most.

CARBON FIBER DRAG

Features friction washers made from woven carbon fiber, which is virtually impervious to wear. The drag stack is sealed to prevent saltwater intrusion from affecting performance. Multiple carbon and stainless steel washers provide a wide drag range with higher lockdowns for use with heavier braids. The 6000 and 8000 sizes contain an additional oversized carbon washer on the rear of the spool that increases drag performance and heat dissipation with larger fish.
